EMH&T is currently seeking a CAD Technician to join our Survey team located in Columbus, OH. As the Survey Technician, you'll gain hands-on experience in surveying and foundational mapping skills while working under the guidance of an experience surveyor; you'll be responsible for processing field survey data and producing accurate, high-quality survey drawings and maps; you will utilize computer aided drafting (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) software to create technical drawings for topographical and boundary surveys; and you'll work closely with field crews, project managers, and engineers to ensure deliverables meet project and client expectations. Responsibilities * Carries out a variety of drafting assignments using independent judgment and initiative. * Prepares layouts, drawings and designs according to engineering specifications using CAD software. * Retrieves information from files, edits, produces hardcopies and updates drawings/designs. * Reviews engineering drawings and documentation, resolves undefined details. Desired Skills * A self-starter that demonstrates dependability and consistent work efforts. * Ability to work independently and enjoy working in a team environment. * High attention to detail. * Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to express ideas clearly. * Receive and apply constructive feedback. * Experience and proficiency with general surveying practices, boundary control and legal principles, preferred. Qualifications * Some technical education, specialized training or work experience with one or more CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, ARC/INFO. * Knowledge of Survey Geomatics techniques, principles, tools and various methods for graphically describing the location and distribution of land, physical relationships, and characteristics * Experience as a surveying technician is preferred.
