Company OverviewIndustrial Civil Construction Contractor specializing in structural concrete and sitework/earthwork looking for Skilled Multicraft Personnel able to perform the duties of a Carpenter, Rodbuster & Concrete Finisher for industrial plant in East Houston. TWIC card is required for this project.Job SummaryUnder the direction of the Superintendent/Foreman Multicraft Personnel will carry out assignments related to constructing, erecting, stripping, and/or repairing structures of steel, wood or plywood; hoist and place all required reinforcing, including rebar, wire mesh and post tension; concrete placement, finishing, curing and cutting based on the proper selection of equipment, tools, materials and sequencing needed to deliver an acceptable end product.Responsibilities and DutiesInstalls Rebar for Foundations:Places rebar in wall footings, grade beams, column footings, caps and footing steps.Installs rebar templates, embeds and anchor bolts.Offloads and packs rebar to appropriate location.Installs all appropriate accessories to support rebar in its correct location.Installs reinforcing and post tension for structural deckInstalls various rebar elements for the structural deck including rebar, wire mesh and post tension systems. Pre-Ties reinforcing when cost effectiveInstalls all required accessories to support and hold reinforcing in final location.Stresses post tension at required time to meet appropriate design criteria thru proper use of tensioning equipment.Burns post tension cable ends off once approved.Install footing forms:Places wall footings, grade beams and footing steps.Installs column footings and caps.Installs rebar templates, embeds and anchor bolts.Installs water stop systems with proper alignment.Builds and installs wall and column forms:Installs various types of wall form systems.Braces, stabilizes and aligns wall forms.Installs, anchors, and embeds miscellaneous metals in correct locations.Frames ledges, openings, block-outs and sleeves in correct locations.Strips vertical formwork.  Builds and installs Structural Deck Forms:Installs various elements of the structural deck systems including but not limited to beam bottoms, beam sides, pans, and life-line systems. Installs and removes post shoring, reshoring systems, and scaffolding.Frames ledges, construction joints, openings, block-outs and sleeves in correct location.Sets handrails.Strips horizontal formwork.Sets grades for horizontal decking systemsProperly rigs loads and materials to be moved by hoisting equipmentSets Slab-on-grade forms:Sets keywaysAccurately sets, positions and stabilizes expansion jointsSets high tolerance edge formsProvides layout for control and construction jointsDismantles floor formsEstablishes finish grade during the pour of the slabsPerforms the following concrete placement and finish:placing, finishing curing, and cutting of concrete slabspatching and repairing of concrete workconcrete restorationconcrete joint treatmentsapplications of floor toppingsEnsures floor finishes meet project requirements consistent with FF/FL terminologyProficient in the use of the following tools and has the knowledge to use the equipment at the proper time of the place-finishing sequence:Straight edges to establish gradeBull Floats, mops and Highway Straight EdgesFloat blades, combo blades, and finish bladesHand tools for Floor finishing, edging, joint toolingSingle and double trowel machinesCuring equipmentPump EquipmentVibratory EquipmentWalk-Behind TrowelsDouble RidersMaintains up-to-date knowledge of all tools and equipment requiredEnsures proper maintenance of equipment and toolsBenefits and PerksGR Birdwell Construction offers: health care for employee and family and after one year of employment pays employee portion of health care costaccrued paid time offretirement savings plans andopportunities for craft developmentPowered by JazzHR
