A California school district is seeking a dedicated full-time Special Education Teacher to support Kindergarten and 1st grade students within a Special Day Class (SDC) setting. This direct hire opportunity allows an educator to engage with young learners, fostering their academic and social growth throughout the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year. Position Details: Role: Special Education Teacher (SPED) - SDC Location: California (Oakland area) Employment Type: Direct Hire Start Date: ASAP End Date: End of the 2024-2025 school year Caseload: Kindergarten and 1st grade students Schedule: Full-time Key Responsibilities: Deliver tailored instruction and manage a caseload of K-1 students in the Special Day Class. Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that align with students' unique learning needs. Adapt curriculum to accommodate varied abilities and promote inclusive education. Collaborate closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and other support staff. Provide comprehensive academic, social, and emotional support to students. Ensure compliance with federal and state special education laws and guidelines. Qualifications: Active Special Education teaching credential for the state of California. Experience working within SDC environments preferred. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and students. Solid classroom management skills tailored to young learners' needs.
