What Success Looks Like In This Job Perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled work in the operation, maintenance, repair, adjustment, and alteration of HVAC systems and to perform semi-skilled and skilled general building and system maintenance as required and assigned. Examples of Duties for Success Install, adjust, repair, and inspect a variety of electrical, electronic, and pneumatic climate controls and valves involving heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment, including forced air furnaces, boilers, water pumps, chillers, air conditioning units, exhaust fans, air filters, compressors, cooling towers, and heat exchangers.Maintain and repair HVAC equipment by performing a variety of skilled electrical, heating, air conditioning, and mechanical repair work.Inspect HVAC systems toidentifymaintenance needs.Repair or replace relays, heavy duty fuses, interlocking and magnetic control circuits, alarm systems, photo and electric eyes and time clocks; measure, cut thread and install electric conduits.Operate all HVAC systems efficiently and effectively.Monitor and test chemical conditions in open and closed water loops; control improper levels by adjusting controllers and adding treatment chemicals.Program andoperatedirect digital controllers including designing control, scheduling, and energy management strategies.Draw, read, and interpret sketches, diagrams, drawings, and blueprints.Monitor andmaintainpreventive maintenance records and logs.Perform other related duties and responsibilities asrequired. Qualifications for Success Efficiently and effectively operate a wide variety of HVAC systems and DDC controls.Understand operational sequences of HVAC equipment.Have vast troubleshooting skills related to a variety of HVAC equipment.Understand processes involved in installation, repair and maintenance of HVAC Systems.Possessbasic theory of electricity and the functions and mechanics of electric motors, circuits, and controls.Recognize tools and equipment used in maintenance of HVAC systems.Identify occupational hazards and necessary precautions applicable to assigned work.Understand policies, procedures and codes related to installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems.Identify safe working practices.Recognize principles and procedures of record keeping.Understand preventive maintenance requirements.Ability to operate a variety of maintenance hand tools and equipment.Ability to repair and maintain a variety of mechanical equipment.Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.Ability to perform a full range of skilled maintenance and repair equipment.Ability to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions, and implement recommendations in support of goals.Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.Establish,maintain, and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. More Qualifications for Success Experience: Three (3) years of responsible experience in HVAC repair and maintenance is required. Education and Training: High school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by completion of a building trade apprenticeship program in electrical, maintenance, refrigeration, heating, cooling, or a related field is required.License or Certificates:Possession of a valid CO driver's license without restrictions is required.Universal Refrigerant Certificate is required.NATE Certifications (Air Conditioning Service and Installation & Gas Heating Service and Installation)??preferred. ICC Mechanical Journeyman Certificate preferred.
