Machine Operator- Metals Duration - FTE Location - Gainesville, GA PAY - $19-21/hr. 2nd Shift Schedule: Monday-Friday, 2:55 PM - 11:05 PM 3rd shift 1 spot Schedule: Sunday-Thursday, 10:55 PM - 7:05 AM 1 spot Schedule: Monday-Friday 10:55 PM-7:05 AM Job overview At IMS Gear we have 3 main business processes that require Machine Operator- Metals. Grinding (grinders), Hobbing (gear hobbing) and Turning (lathes) is responsible for operating the CNC machines as well as ensuring the quality of our products. Responsibilities Operating machines Loading and unloading of machines Adjusting machine settings Performing basic troubleshooting of machines Ensuring proper maintenance of machines Cleaning of equipment and tools Performing measurements for quality control Quality inspection Production reporting Following International Automotive Task Force quality standards - IATF 16949 Teamwork - work in a Team to fulfill daily production goals Escalation of issues to supervisor and manager Following Internal Quality Issues procedure - IQI Ensuring First in - First out Ensuring safety rules and policies are followed Housekeeping - 5S-Standard Other duties assigned. Job requirements Work experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment: Minimum 1-2 years, desired 3 years or more Good reading comprehension of work instructions Good ability to work in a team environment Detail oriented Good attendance and punctuality Basic mechanical background Good knowledge of metal cutting machines Basic ability to read schematics Basic understanding of metric systems Good math skills. Basic knowledge of measurement devices Basic computer skills. Physical requirements Lifting and Carrying up to 35 lbs. Pushing and Pulling up to 35 lbs. using material handling equipment Constant standing, walking, handling and using fingers Frequent bending Occasional kneeling, squatting, reaching outward and reaching above shoulders
