Green River College has four campuses, including the main campus in Auburn, Washington, with satellite campuses in Kent, downtown Auburn, and Enumclaw. The incumbent will assist the team in executing events in a professional and efficient manner while providing excellent customer service to all clients and guests. This position is responsible for moving furniture, setting up and tearing down physical spaces for events. The Custodian 2 will perform general cleaning and provide support to the team during events. Incumbents will help maintain the cleanliness, sanitary condition, safety and appearance of the college campus. This position has a flexible schedule that changes weekly. The hours worked often will be in the evenings and weekends. Position ResponsibilitiesProvide customer service to guests with care and effectivenessPrepare reserved spaces: clean space, empty garbage, clean floors, arranges furniture, set up stages, assist with decorations, props and other items as needed for eventsSet up rooms by following room diagrams and checklists with strong attention to detailTear down rooms and store equipment after eventsAssist the A/V team with placing and putting away equipment. No actual knowledge of A/V is requiredMaintain the cleanliness of event spaces and public spaces (restrooms, lobby areas, function rooms) during eventsClean all areas impacted at conclusion of each event including reserved spaces, restrooms, lobby areas and function rooms.Remove soiled linens and store appropriatelyPerform general cleaning including, but not limited to sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting furniture and ledges, cleaning windows, emptying trash and other cleaning duties as assignedMaintain cleanliness and order in janitorial storage areasOperate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubber, carpet cleaner, upholstery cleaner, etc.Operate a golf cart on campus groundsMaintain constant awareness of safety issues (i.e., broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks, and suspicious persons).
