Job Description: Working Hours: 10 -15 Hourly Rate: $40.00 The Faculty Supervisor is responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of the MassArt student-run brand. This position functions as both a business manager and an experiential educator, guiding a team of student employees in the management of a retail and e-commerce enterprise. The Supervisor ensures the brand operates in compliance with college policies while facilitating student learning in the areas of business strategy, financial analysis, product sourcing, and supply chain operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Facilitates semester-based goal setting with the student leadership team, establishing sales targets, operational milestones, and marketing objectives. * Conducts weekly reviews of business performance data, including sales volume, web traffic analytics, and conversion rates. * Instructs students on P&L management and budget tracking; reviews and approves financial reports prepared by the student team. * Guides the team in data-driven decision-making processes to adjust inventory and marketing strategies based on actual performance. * Advises students on the product development lifecycle, specifically regarding vendor identification, vetting, and negotiation. * Oversees the sourcing of packaging materials, ensuring a balance between brand aesthetics, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability standards. * Provides quality control oversight on final products before they are released for sale or shipment. Requirements: * 2+ years experience in product design and/or business management * 1-3 years experience teaching at the college level Additional Information: Please note MassArt: * Does not support employment-based visa sponsorship or non-student exchange visitor visa sponsorship. * Is not an E-Verify institution.
