We have an opening for a Mechanical Engineering Technologist based out of our Houston, TX location. Reporting to the USA Lead Mechanical Engineer, the Mechanical Engineering Technologist will participate in technical efforts focused on supporting the needs of the Company. The incumbent will be responsible for basic designs, concept technical proposals, technical drawings, test plans, reports, troubleshooting, analysis, and continuous improvement of tools and equipment used in directional drilling. The Mechanical Engineering Technologist will execute these in a cost effective, safe, quality-focused, and technologically driven way following the guidance and leadership of the USA Lead Mechanical Engineer, or the Mechanical Engineering Manager. Specific Accountabilities (not all-inclusive) * Propose solutions concerning the development and implementation of tools and technologies. * Maintain complete and comprehensive records of daily activities and report to the Mechanical Engineering Manager. * Work in technological initiatives related to Mud Motors, MWD/LWD tools and/or any other drilling equipment as required. * Provide training as required to transfer product knowledge within Phoenix Technology Services. * Assist other departments with various projects when time permits. * Perform all duties to meet the responsibilities listed in the Employee and Corporate HSE Handbooks. * Perform duties according to the Company's quality system procedures and work instructions. Qualifications * Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technologist or Equivalent, from an accredited Institution * Mechanical Engineering Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience * Highly skilled in SolidWorks as a design and drafting tool * Great drafting skills and knowledge of GD&T * Experience with mechanical design and product development * Fundamentals of mechanical systems (i.e. stress of materials, materials selection for use in high pressure, high-temperature and high-vibration environments, etc.) * Knowledge and experience with revision control platforms, preferably PDM Vault * Understanding of basic machining and manufacturing processes and procedures * Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills * Strong documentation skills for design logs, test reports and operational manuals * Quick learner, strong work ethic, goal-focused, and detail oriented * Process and quality mind-set with an appreciation of design best practices * Exposure to downhole tools and field operations in the oil and gas industry is an asset * Relevant field experience is an asset Please submit your application to Tyler Christensen, USA Lead Mechanical Engineer:
