Job Description

A Shift Leader is responsible for providing support to manager's by acting as Manager on Duty (MOD), handling day to day managerial tasks including checking in orders, placing orders, staffing, cash handling, guest management and opening and closing the restaurant. ShiftLeaders will take orders, run food, maintain a clean and organized dining room, bag and deliver to go orders, enforce team deployment in the front of house, ensure prep is completed for service, support bartenders as needed and be the go to contact for any issues on shift if managers are not present.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESServiceGreeting guests upon arrivalProviding excellent customer service during guests dining experience, from entry to the restaurant through departure and everything in betweenMemorize the menu at your locationAble to read readily available recipes to make store specific cocktailsCash handlingResponsible for handling guest complaints on shiftCan cover any FOH position in event of a call outMemorizes Steps of Service for cashier, bar and expoSanitation/Food SafetySweep and mop floorsSanitize and wipe down tables and other surfacesMaintain beverage and salsa stationsClean bathroomsAbility to complete internal health auditsFollows checklists for opening and closingCheck food and equipment temperature to ensure food safety complianceAble to complete line checks and provide feedback when food does not meet specLeadershipAble to open and close the restaurant soloComplete a check out for every FOH team member before they conclude their shiftEnsure all prep for FOH is identified at the beginning of the shift and completed by the end of the shiftHolds peers accountable to company standardsGo to trainer for cashier position at your locationAdminData entry, including invoicesAble to properly receive and verify paper and alcohol ordersATTITUDEFriendlyPossess a sense of urgencyThoughtfulNatural ability to connect with others quicklyIntuitiveResponsibleCuriousQUALIFICATIONSMinimumAble to speak EnglishComfortable working with a teamBasic math knowledge, particularly addition and subtractionAble to take constructive criticismAble to handle conflict with potential guest issuesAbility to read and follow instructionsGood verbal communication skillsComfortable with technology (POS systems, printers, KDS, etc)Able to multitask and prioritze on the flyConflict resolution, both with guests and team membersPreferredPrior experience in a restaurant jobPrior experience with Revel, Ctuit, and/or ZenputCan speak English and SpanishPrior management experienceFood Manager certificationAny local certifications that are required in the store's jurisdictionRequirementsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAble to lift 25+ poundsAble to stand on their feet for 8 hours uninterruptedAble to be stationary for multiple hours at a time completing repetitive tasksAble to move quickly throughout the restaurantAble to access and navigate all areas of the restaurantAble to work in excessive heat and cold associated with the kitchen environment
