Kennywood's rich history spans generations of good times and extends beyond the traditional summer season with popular Halloween and Holiday events.We are currently looking for a:Kennywood - Rides Maintenance TechnicianRoles & Responsibilities:The Rides Maintenance Technician is responsible for the modification, repair, and refurbishment of equipment and facilities of a designated set of amusement rides or devices. Maintenance completes preventative maintenance, testing rides, adjusting controls, diagnosing issues, and repairing system malfunctions as they occur.This position plays an integral role in ensuring the safe and continuous operation of park rides and attractions, which, in turn, strengthens guest satisfaction.Job Duties & Responsibilities:Conduct daily pre-opening inspections of attractions and property.Ability to diagnose and correct mechanical issues.Respond to trouble calls with a sense of urgency.Maintain the property in a clean, presentable, and safe manner.Perform repairs and service as directed by the manufacturers' requirements and specifications.Perform preventative maintenance such as painting, battery replacement, smoke detector checks, HVAC Cleaning, door/ lock repair, plumbing, cleaning, painting, drywall repair, basic carpentry, electrical repairs, and various other issues that ariseSchedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.Utilize the proper PPE, depending on the nature of the job.Maintains all storage areas, shops, and mechanical areas in a clean, safe, organized, and secure mannerComplete repair work orders in a timely manner.Keep the maintenance and park leaders fully informed of any corrective issues needed.All other duties assigned by leadership.Education and Experience:High School diploma, GED, or equivalent Equivalent work experience will also be considered1-2 years previous work experience in maintenance or mechanics highly desired.Previous work experience performing maintenance on roller coasters, amusement rides, or other attractions desired but not requiredLanguage: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Pennsylvania Child Labor LawsAbility to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, open to closeMust possess a valid driver's license and a good driving recordMust possess strong mechanical aptitude and ability to utilize a variety of hand and power tools in a safe and effective mannerMust possess proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and small combustion engine repairAbility to tear down and correctly reassemble machines, equipment or devicesAbility to read and comprehend ride maintenance manuals, blueprints, and technical drawingsFamiliarity and experience with theme park ride mechanics a plusFamiliarity with state and local codes as they relate to theme park attractionsPhysical Requirements:Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist, kneel, bend, climb, or squat for long periods of timeAbility to remain on feet for majority of the workdayAbility to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 75 pounds or moreAbility to work in all non-conventional areas of the property, including in confined spaces or above ground-level, on scaffolds, ladders, and manliftsAbility to consistently use hands to grasp, control, move objects/toolsAbility to see differences between colors and brightnessAbility to see details of objects that are more than a few feet awayWorking Conditions:Frequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditionsSubject to constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, vibrations, motorized equipment, and exposure to various chemicals and greasesSubject to bloodborne pathogens Proper PPE is required in these situations.Subject to working at significant heights greater than 100 feetTeam member benefits:Why Kennywood?We truly believe that where you work matters and, as a theme park company, we like to think we know a thing or two about what makes people happy.Perks and Benefits:Competitive compensationComprehensive health and wellness package401k Savings and Investment planFree admission to Palace Parks in the continental USA generous paid time off program in which the benefits increase with your tenure with the companyDo not miss the chance to spark your career now!
