Job Summary and Qualifications Assumes primary responsibility for all equipment utilized in the department, as well as the maintenance of the department supply, storage and equipment preparation areas. Performance requires a high degree of communication ability, technical skills and knowledge of equipment function and safety in order to provide consistent quality medical equipment function and availability for all clinical needs. Essential Job Functions: 1. Assembles and calibrates all invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilators and respiratory equipment per manufactures recommendations. 2. Maintain all equipment utilized and follow proper disinfection/sterilization techniques for equipment. 3. Responsible for maintaining appropriate equipment availability and ordering rental equipment when necessary. 4. Maintains cleanliness and inventory of the lab to include equipment and facilities. Will organize, order inventory of office supplies and equipment and will maintain storage room clean and stocked at the completion of each shift. 5. Responsible for supporting the Respiratory Care Supervisors and staff by assisting with taking clean equipment and supplies to all areas and returning dirty equipment to the department. 6. Must follow-up on equipment hazard reports and follow manufacturers procedures for recall action or equipment modifications required by special notice. Additional Job Functions: 1. May handle, pick up, deliver and/or stock non-controlled medications as directed by a licensed team member. 2. The job responsibilities of this position may include cross training in other functions or positions to ensure satisfactory operation of the department/work unit or to permit flexible staffing assignments. It also includes flexing of work schedules to meet departmental needs and staffing at other MHS facilities and candidate will take "CALL" as necessary on a rotational basis. 3. Must learn and comply with System and facility safety policies and rules; must use appropriate safety equipment and procedures at all times; must immediately report all unsafe conditions to supervisors; must be familiar with all safety features of equipment, tools or materials encompassed by job duties; and must check with supervisors (prior to job performance) if there is a question as to the safe procedure to be used for any job function. 6. Adheres to the MHS Code of Conduct and demonstrates ethical behavior as expected by our patients, colleagues and the community. Understands the personal obligation to report any activity that appears to violate applicable laws, rules regulations or the Code of Conduct itself. 7. Completes other duties as assigned.
