CAD Detailer and Estimator

We have an exciting opportunity for a CAD Detailer and Estimator to join our team. This position serves as a support to our Sales Department by reviewing customer drawings, creating takeoffs or shop drawings, assessing material requirements, and determining labor hours in order for the sales team to accurately quote orders. Responsibilities * Analyze blueprints, drawings and other documentation to prepare time, cost, material and labor estimates for customer quotations * Prepare material estimates by calculating complete takeoff for scope of work and applying labor units as applicable * Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost effective to produce or purchase from outside sources * Collaborate with sales department to determine of design and manufacturing * Provide technical advice and problem solving for internal personnel and customers * Gather information to be submitted with the proposal such as price breakouts and quantities * Maintain files of working documents as back-up for the estimate, including current information from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, etc. Qualifications * 2+ years experience in estimating industrial materials , labor, and other inputs for customer orders * Ability to read structural drawings required with CAD software experience strongly preferred * Strong understanding of industrial or structural materials * Advanced math skills * Proficient in Microsoft Office * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written * Ability to prioritize, identify solutions, and achieve deadlines * High levels of professionalism with strong attention to detail At McNICHOLS we reward our team with quarterly incentives, great health and wellness benefits, generous 401k matching, 15 days of PTO, as well as 100% company paid life insurance, disability, wellness, and financial health benefits.
