Transportation Engineer Associate I

POSITION SUMMARY ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Thompson Engineering is seeking an entry-level Transportation Engineer to join our growing transportation design group. This role is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career professionals eager to develop skills in roadway and transportation design. The ideal candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm for learning, strong attention to detail, and a desire to contribute to meaningful infrastructure projects. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────── * Assist in the design and preparation of roadway, intersection, and transportation project plans under the supervision of senior engineers. * Use OpenRoads Designer and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D to support design tasks. * Prepare project documentation, reports, and quantity estimates. * Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on transportation and civil infrastructure projects. * Participate in training and mentoring opportunities to build technical and professional skills. QUALIFICATIONS ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────── * Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. * 0-3 years of relevant experience (internships or co-op experience a plus). * Interest in transportation engineering and roadway design. * Familiarity or proficiency with OpenRoads Designer or Civil 3D preferred. * Engineer Intern (EI/EIT) certification or eligibility preferred. * Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
