The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the engineering team and managing the technical aspects of the remanufacturing process. This role requires balancing the development and improvement of manufacturing processes to maximize efficiency, quality, and output. This role involves leading a team to develop, implement, and optimize processes for disassembly, cleaning, inspecting, repairing, and reassembling automatic transmissions. The manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, production, quality, and supply chain, to meet business goals and customer demands. The manufacturing engineering manager will manage a small team of manufacturing engineers and technicians and will proactively collaborate with other engineering and operations teams to improve and expand our production system. The role will focus on leading teammates and improving key metrics including safety, quality, labor, and costs.Company Expectations At ETE REMAN, we expect every team member to:Bring a positive attitude and support your teammatesFocus on quality and keep customer satisfaction at the center of everything you doFollow established policies and processes, while staying flexible as things evolveShow up on time, stay engaged, and work with passion, urgency, and focusAim to not only meet but exceed goalsMake continuous improvement a daily goalEssential duties and functions: Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Directly manages and mentors a team of manufacturing engineers, industrial engineers, and technicians to hone process development, problem-solving, and continuous improvement skillsets.Analyze operational data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost. Collaborate with senior management to plan and approve capital investments for new equipment and process improvements.Oversee the design, validation, and continuous improvement of entire remanufacturing processes including disassembly, cleaning, inspection, sub-assembly, and assembly.Develop and maintain standardized work procedures and process documentation.Drive continuous improvement initiatives and Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance overall operational performance.Manage engineering projects, including the implementation of new equipment, process automation, and new product introductions into the remanufacturing flow.Mapping plant production capacity - time study data collection, organizing data, and distribution to operations.Provide technical/subject matter expertise and guidance for the resolution of manufacturing process issues.Design remanufacturing flow lines, workstation layouts, tools, fixtures, gauges, and station controls that optimize efficiency and product quality to achieve company goals.Collaborate with quality engineering in root cause analysis initiatives and turn root cause findings into actionable improvement projects.The above list reflects general details necessary to describe the principle and essential function of the position and shall not be construed as the only duties that may be assigned to this position.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.Experience with assembly of complex hydraulic/mechanical assemblies.Must possess solid mechanical troubleshooting abilities.Proven experience in remanufacturing, reverse engineering, refurbishment, or product rebuild operations is preferred.Understand operational theory of automatic transmissions is preferred.
