Job Summary: The Shop Welder - Line Bore Technician 3, performs most welding repairs on heavy construction equipment or related components in a shop environment. Demonstrates a willingness to help in other areas when needed. Must be able to operate proficiently the line bore equipment. Essential Functions:Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and MissionDemonstrates well developed technical skills and performs most standard machine jobs and repairsPerforms all types of machining operations to manufacture, modify, and repair machine parts, equipment, and componentsLays out tasks, reads and interprets blueprints and technical publications, designs and draws working sketchesWorks as a member of a team to provide basic mechanical services that satisfies customer needs and achieves departmental goalsWorks overtime as required by workload and customers' needsMaintains all company equipment, tools, and work areas in a good, clean, and working orderPerforms tasks under indirect supervision and often helps other Machinists on large jobsProvides significant task and behavior-oriented supervision to other MachinistsProvides assistance, coaching, and mentoring to other MachinistsPrepares service reports and any other necessary paperworkExamines workpieces for defects to ensure conformance with specificationsAdheres to contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulationsActively participates in observations and safety meetingsRequires regular and punctual employee attendanceWorks safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standardsPerforms other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of equipment and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenanceKnowledge of current computer software, CAT SIS, and ability to teach othersKnowledge of line boring process-3 years experience requiredExcellent work habits, accuracy, attention to detail, and quality of workVerbal and written communication skillsEffective influencing skills which include motivating and developing customers and employeesTime management skillsCritical thinking and problem-solving skillsAbility to do math problems and geometric problemsAbility to read blueprints and OEM specificationsAbility to help quote jobs and give time frames on taskAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to follow manufacturer and company installation and service guidelines to ensure quality workAbility to operate hand tools, power tools, machine tools, and equipment to help perform the jobAbility to read ID and OD Mics and teach othersAbility to perform moderate to advanced welding and torch cuttingAbility to be self-starting and self-motivatedAbility to follow logical troubleshooting proceduresAbility to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands in order to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objectsAbility to read, write, and understand schematics, blueprints and manufacture specificationsAbility to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences Must own a large assortment of tools to perform repairs and jobsHas met HDSI requirements for preceding Machinist levels; Ability to model and teach Holt's VBL CultureOngoing Safety TrainingEducation and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program preferred.
