Summary The 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician - I position is responsible for assisting in performing a variety of semi-skilled mechanical work with line set-up, maintenance and repair of components, equipment and systems. M-F 3p-1130p overtime and weekends as needed $28/hr + $1/hr shift differential How You Will Impact Smurfit Westrock Packaging Solutions * Understanding and demonstrating the behavior that the safety of yourself and other coworkers is paramount and is the #1 priority. * Perform safety inspections in manufacturing or repair settings. * Perform preventative maintenance (PM) or clean-up tasks. * Repair or maintain the operating condition of production machinery. * Set-up production lines (Assembly). * Operate maintenance vehicles include aerial lifts, personnel transport vehicles, and forklifts. * Assist Maintenance Technician's II, III, and IV in performing tasks in maintenance repair, and installation of equipment and systems. * Perform semi-skilled repair of mechanical equipment. * Examine parts for defects, breakage or wear. * Reassembling equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs. * Clean, lubricate or adjust parts, equipment or machinery. * Document repairs and maintenance were performed. * Document parts or materials are used and request new parts or materials as necessary. * Maintain and repair work tools or equipment. * Lubricate machinery or parts. * Position aligns or level machines or structures. * Maintain repair records as assigned. * Responsible for the overall Safety and cleanliness of equipment and area. * Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures. * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. May require the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. May require the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization * Evaluates the ability of employee to produce superior products or services, meeting all specifications and expectations, free of errors or waste. Includes accuracy, following correct procedures, such as GMP, SOP, ISO requirements, performing all quality checks, complete and legible documentation * Perform other duties as assigned. What You Need To Succeed In-house electrical authorization must be obtained prior to conducting any electrical assignments. A person in this position must possess the ability to: * High School diploma or GED minimum * Work from ladders. * Work in closed restricted locations. * Demonstrate positive interpersonal skills. * Demonstrate the ability to follow and/or interpret oral and written directions. * Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. * Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals * Proficient in Microsoft Office computer skills to include Outlook, Word and Excel * Perform the essential functions and requirements of these classifications. * Learn to set up and operate a variety of machine tools, such as drill press, lathes or welding equipment. * Learn to operate maintenance vehicles including aerial lifts, personnel transport vehicles, and forklifts. * Able to work overtime when needed Physical Demands / Work Environment The physical demands described in the Task Development Worksheet are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
