This job is responsible for creating and organizing hands-on clinical training programs in partnership with colleges and universities. The goal is to build a workplace culture that supports learning and student training, while also helping the agency attract and keep good employees and improve healthcare services. The person in this role will act as the main contact between MDVA and schools that currently use or want to use an MDVA healthcare campus to train healthcare students. They will coordinate both internal and external partnerships. The job also includes planning educational programs, developing or organizing curriculum, and providing leadership for education efforts at the Minnesota Veterans Homes. In addition, the person must retain qualifications to serve as a Program Director through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Accredited Provider Program. Only applicants whose resumes clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for this position. **Minimum Qualifications** + Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Minnesota, with no practice restrictions. + A graduate degree with either a bachelor's or graduate degree in nursing is required to obtain American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Program Director status. The ANCC Program Director status must be achieved on or before the end of the probationary period. + Four (4) years of experience as instructor in a post-secondary health care program, education program for nursing professionals or developing clinical curriculum. + Organizational and time management skills sufficient to manage multiple time sensitive projects. **Preferred Qualifications** + Experience as a health educator in a hospital or long-term care facility. + Experience working with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) regulations. + Accredited Body Certification in Gerontology, Hospice and Palliative Care, Quality Improvement, Education, Nurse Executive or other related nursing/clinical field unique to senior healthcare services. + Experience working on an interdisciplinary healthcare team. + Clinical experience in a 24/7 long-term care operation. **Additional Requirements** + A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check may be conducted on the top finalist(s) for the position(s). When conducted, a finalist must pass the DHS background check. + A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x-ray) is required prior to employment. + Finalists may be required to pass a driver's license check. + Employment reference checks will be conducted on finalists.This may include a review of documentation related to job performance and contact with the applicant's former employer(s).
