JOB TITLE: Software Development Manager FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Exempt DEPARTMENT: Product Development - Engineering REPORTS TO: VP of Development REVISION DATE: 03/02/2026 SUMMARY This position is responsible for leading software development teams in the planning, execution, and delivery of high-quality product features and technical solutions. The Development Manager provides technical and people's leadership, ensures alignment with product priorities, and drives consistent engineering practices to support Magaya's long-term product strategy and operational excellence. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Leads and manages one or more software development teams within the Magaya Engineering organization. * Translates product requirements and architectural direction into executable development plans. * Provides day-to-day leadership, guidance, and prioritization to development teams. * Partners with Product Management, QA, Architecture, and Operations across the product lifecycle. * Enforces engineering standards, development best practices, and code quality guidelines. * Participates in technical design and architectural discussions. * Identifies delivery risks and resolves technical and execution issues. * Coaches, mentors, and develops engineers; conducts performance reviews. * Supports hiring, onboarding, and capacity planning. * Drives continuous improvement of development processes and tools. * Performs other related duties assigned by management. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES * Directly supervises software engineers and may provide functional oversight to cross-team contributors. * Responsible for performance management and professional development.
