We offer a vibrant team atmosphere and comprehensive benefits packages.Position Summary:The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for executing multiple projects on time and on budget and directing other design professionals in Power Engineering. The Senior Project Engineer will also work with other design disciplines internally and externally to develop engineering solutions for PEC's clients. This position will be responsible for providing design deliverables for a variety of projects, while maintaining PEC's standard of excellence. Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for project completion, in accordance with quality assurance policies, standards and project specificationsDevelop E&I documents and deliverables in conformance with project specifications, scope of work, design parameters, codes, and industry practicesDevelop electrical drawings and documents including one-line drawings, schematics, power plans, hazard classification maps, cable routing (cable tray/raceways), cable and conduit schedules, grounding, and lighting plansAssist in the preparation of project proposals, cost estimates, and feasibility studiesPerform and/or directs engineering design, coordination with other design staff for construction documents and specification production, in compliance with building codes, construction administration, and development of reports/studiesUse experience, education, and judgement to make informed decisions. Retains knowledge and builds on previous experiences to increase capabilities in breadth and complexityOrganize multiple projects and tasks and complete them in a timely manner, on schedule, and per PEC Standards. Oversees tasks that have been delegated to other engineers and support staffServe as an advisor to the Project Manager, identifying and communicating any potential risk to the project in a timely fashionPerform and/or direct power systems analysis using hand and software, including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, coordination and step-touch studiesPrepare material take-offs Respond to technical inquiries from customers, vendors, and field personnel with minimal supervisionReview project contracts, schedules, and requirements to determine staffing, deliverables, and deadlinesOversee tasks that have been delegated to other engineers and support staffPerform quality control reviews at appropriate milestonesMentor, train and develop less experienced staffTravel from time- to-time. Travel may be for projects, training, or other work-related dutiesOther projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretion Special Knowledge, skills and abilities:Experience specific to electrical transmission and distribution design.Ability to work independently and with others, with minimal supervisionProven attention to detail and accuracy in preparing engineering plans, reports, and documentationExcellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skillsKnowledge and skill in determining project requirements, setting project scope of work, determining design budgets, determining preliminary construction budgets, and review of contractsProven work ethicExperience with computer aided drafting and modeling using industry accepted software as described below:AutoDesk AutoCADMicrosoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPointBluebeam RevuPower distribution modeling software such as SKM Power Tools, EasyPower, ETAP, CYMCAP, PLS-CADD, etc.Experience with relevant codes, regulations, standards, interpreting plans, and design discipline specific project components as they relate to industrial or electrical utility systemsExperience with E&I documents and deliverables in conformance with project specifications, scope of work, design parameters, codes, and industry practicesEducation and Experience:Minimum of a B.S. in Electrical Engineering Degree from an accredited college is requiredMinimum twelve (12) years of experience in engineering requiredExperience with computer aided calculation and modeling using industry accepted softwareExperience in utility transmission and/or distribution projects is required. Experience with protection and control preferred.Experience with codes and regulations, interpreting plans, and design discipline specific project componentsLicense and Certification:Professional Engineering (PE) license in the location of practice is required
