Job Title: Product Analyst Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid – 3 days onsite) Alternate Location: West Des Moines, IA Type: Contract Max Pay Rate: $62/hr Duration: Up to 24 months Role Overview We are seeking a Product Analyst to support merchant-facing payment applications within a fast-paced Agile delivery environment. This role partners closely with Product Owners and engineering teams to translate product concepts into clear, testable user stories and maintain a high-quality backlog. The Product Analyst plays a key role in backlog refinement, requirements documentation, stakeholder collaboration, and defect analysis. This role is not a Product Owner position but offers a potential growth path toward Product Owner or Product Manager roles. Key Responsibilities Backlog Management & Story Development Maintain backlog health with at least two sprints of ready work Refine epics into clear user stories with acceptance criteria Facilitate backlog refinement sessions Identify dependencies, risks, and trade-offs Product Analysis Document current application state, workflows, and data flows Identify technology or process gaps and recommend improvements Support solution design and requirement documentation Stakeholder Collaboration Translate business ideas into detailed requirements Work with product managers, engineers, and SMEs Support audit and compliance documentation Testing & Delivery Support Document use cases and business scenarios Support UAT planning and validation Investigate defects and support production triage Agile Delivery Support Assist sprint planning and backlog prioritization Surface risks and dependencies early Maintain clear product documentation Required Qualifications 3+ years Product Analyst or Business Analyst experience in Agile environments Strong user story writing and backlog refinement experience Experience defining acceptance criteria Experience with Agile tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence) Strong stakeholder communication and collaboration skills Experience analyzing defects and working with engineering teams Preferred Qualifications Financial services or payments / merchant services experience Familiarity with payment lifecycle: authorization clearing settlement reconciliation chargebacks Experience with PCI-DSS or regulated environments Basic data analysis experience (SQL preferred) Agile certifications (CSPO, SAFe POPM, ICP-BA)
