The Litigation Practice Support Project Manager is the team lead for providing technical support for litigation matters requiring eDiscovery assistance and insight throughout the EDRM cycle. They work closely with case teams and clients to assess and create strategies for the collection, processing, review and production of documents. They are a resource to provide their knowledge of available in-house tools, including partnering with 3rd parties to accomplish the task in an efficient cost-effective manner. Critical thinking, the ability to work autonomously or with others in sometimes volatile environment are essential in this role.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:This is a hybrid position; in office as requiredPrimary contact for discovery matters with case team members, providing project coordination for multiple matters simultaneouslyAssess matters, develop, recommend and implement sound methodologies for working with client dataProvide case team with any cost estimates for items relating to eDiscovery tasks by coordinating quotes and scope of work for case team to make efficient, cost-effective decisionsProvide support in all areas of the eDiscovery life cycle, from initial client scoping calls, overseeing collection efforts, processing of data sets within review platforms, creation of workflows in concert with case teamEnsure production sets conform to ESI Discovery Orders, and the integrity of outgoing productions are vetted for accuracy, proper endorsements and redactions, and distribution sets are encrypted to safeguard client dataEstablish relationships with service providers who compliment the firm's in-house services to provide full-service capabilities for the client's discovery requirementsWork within Practice Support to continuously improve best practices through communication and feedbackProactively monitor matter issues that may arise and provide solutions to case teamCommunicate regular matter status reports to case team and Practice Support to ensure continuity in supportBe a resource for emerging data sources and litigation technologiesKeeps abreast of case law developments relating to eDiscovery, AI and other trends transforming the litigation landscapeUnderstand the working relationships of professional staff and attorneys, recognize the contributions made by each to provide the best possible support for successWorks collaboratively with fellow Practice Support team members to provide end-to-end support for all areas of the firmBecome familiar and master firm tools, technologies, and protocols used within the normal course of litigationWork in concert with Practice Support team members to create and update best practice eDiscovery case management guidelines, to ensure consistent, defensible workflows, such as:Document Preservation (litigation holds, scoping calls)Document Collections (chain of custody)Case Management Conferences (ESI protocols)Document Productions (QC checklists, logs)Create and maintain production logs and other forms to allow for accurate tracking and auditsTrain attorneys and professional staff on litigation programs as neededTravel to other office locations as neededEnsure proper security protocols are in place to limit accessibility of client dataFamiliarity of ancillary programs not directly related to eDiscovery that may require knowledge for occasional support or assistanceKeep track of any 3rd party services to assist Manager of Practice Support in verifying invoice accuracy/services renderedEnter time to maintain an accurate record of time spent on matters for proper auditingIdentify professional development opportunities, including CLE's and conferencesAt times, work may be required outside of normal office operating hours such as nights and weekends.KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIESBachelor's degree in related field of study preferred.eDiscovery or project management certifications preferredMinimum of three years e-discovery or litigation support experience managing projects independently. Proven track record of leading projects, analyzing complex data, and providing technology solutions.Experience administering Relativity Server requiredExperience administering RelativityOne preferredTrial Support experience preferredConceptual knowledge/experience of collection methodologies such as forensics, ESI and document reviewExperience/knowledge of litigation centric applications, including case management, transcript,Well spoken, articulate; comfortable speaking within a group while respecting others opinions. Ability to work independently to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when evaluating legal matters.Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.Understanding the impact data imparts on eDiscovery, such as emails, servers, social media, mobile devices, cloud storage, document repositories and emerging technologyTeam player with an ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the firm.Ability to collaborate and work in concert within the practice support team providing back-up to further department success.Ability to convey technology concepts in simple terms to those with little or no technology knowledge.Ability to strategize, plan and think outside the box.Demonstrate ownership of work and projects.
