Come join our team!Recycling Sales Specialists are responsible for prospecting and supporting new commercial and industrial business growth as well as retaining and increasing current customer recycling business to grow tonnage at the Recycling facility. This position requires cold calling on commercial and industrial accounts in the field to generate new recycling volume for the Rumpke Recycling and Resource Center.Responsibilities of Position: Secure new recycling business from multi-family residences, businesses, municipalities, and/or from special events/activitiesSupport new business and maintain existing relationships with existing large commercial and industrial generators of recycling materialsIdentify leads, manage prospects, and support acquiring new businessCultivate existing customers' recyclable volumes from commercial, retail, and industrial accountsProspect and develop recycling opportunities for all material or commodity types (i.e. OCC, office paper, mixed, co-mingled, aluminum, glass, etc.)Coordinate efforts with hauling and recycling operations to pinpoint and service existing high-volume recycling opportunitiesRoutinely interact and meet with Recycling management to review weekly sales activities, progress on goals, and status of prospective customersDetermine customer needs and propose appropriate servicesMeet or exceed the new business goals of tons to the recycling facilityConduct cold call and prospecting activities that result in scheduled first appointments and follow-up appointments with decision-makers at businesses and/or contractor sitesEnsure all lead source business opportunities are quoted profitablyPrepare and deliver sales proposals/presentations to key decision-makers that result in closing the salePropose customer solutions that are compliant with appropriate local, state, and federal regulationsUtilize the company's CRM tool daily, scheduling and documenting activities, and developing prospective customer profilesSupport sales team in gaining customer service agreements for new and existing recycle businessSubmit and review reports and other paperwork in a timely manner and in accordance with Company policyDevelop and maintain an awareness of market behavior and competitive trends and respond accordinglyAttend weekly sales meetingsPeriodically set up and conduct tours of the Recycling and Resource Center for potential and current customersPerform other duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibility:This position will not manage employeesSkills & Abilities Needed for Position:Highly motivated individual who is a self-starter with professional demeanor and ability to work independently to meet/exceed goalsPossess strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills and the ability to present and communicate in a professional mannerMust be organized with good time management skillsPossess proven analytical/problem-solving skillsProficient in Windows and Microsoft applicationsExperience & Knowledge Needed for Position:Minimum two (2) years outside business-to-business sales with a proven track record of successOne (1) year of experience in a customer-facing sales role (business to business)Previous cold calling experiencePreferred recycling/waste industry experience and/or working with contractorsExperience in developing and executing territory sales strategiesPhysical Requirements in a Regular Workday:Rarely lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 10 lbsOccasionally working outside in changing temperatures, wet/humid conditionsOccasionally working in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matterFrequently sitting/standing/walkingAdditional Working Conditions/Aspects: Exposure to residential and commercial wasteAbility to travel between offices, as requiredAbility to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as neededAbility to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidaysMust be available for 24-hour emergency callsLegally eligible to work in the United StatesValid driver's license (if applicable)Must successfully complete pre-employment testingMust be able to read and speak the English languageThis job description is intended to describe the general nature, complexity, and level of work to be performed by employees assigned to this position and is not to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties, and/or skills required.
