This position is for those planning to enter a technician's apprenticeship in the near future.This position is located at our sales and service dealership location in El Cajon, CA.WAGEThis position pays $21.50/hr based on level of experience.YOUR RESPONSIBILITIESAssists and watches technicians to learn their trade with the intention of proceeding to a full apprenticeship.Performs miscellaneous tasks as assigned by technicians or shop foreman and service manager.Cleans oil storage tanks according to prescribed procedures.Drains and disposes of used oil filters properly.Assists technicians with oil and water spills, and with emptying drain tubs.Runs errands as directed by foremanSweeps technician stalls, service department and body shop floors, showroom, halls and vending areas.Washes shop truck, inside and out.Cleans the service and customer areas.Washes all windows, glass doors and glass panels throughout service area.Empties and cleans all trash receptacles, inside and outside.Removes all debris from lot.Uses proper eye, hand and body personal protective equipment when using products that require protection.WHAT WE LOOK FOR Training in the Diesel Mechanics Technology Program Basic mechanical knowledge of Class 8 Trucks preferredStrong organizational skillsDetail-orientedAbility to proactively problem-solve and think logicallyAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writingGood multi-tasking abilityStrong interpersonal skillsFunctions well with large volume and fast-paced work environment.Strong business ethics with a professional approach at all timesAccountability and dependabilityTime managementMust be able to lift a minimum of 25 kgs or 50 pounds.Must be able to walk around shop floor and exterior yard area (long periods standing / walking).Must have the mobility to easily access and egress trucks and equipmentUS BENEFIT PACKAGEOur employees receive a generous benefits package including:MedicalDentalVisionPrescription benefits401k with employer matching programFlexible Savings AccountHealth Savings Account (available with some medical programs)Long Term and Short Term DisabilityLife Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment InsurancePaid Time OffOn-going training opportunitiesABOUT INLAND KENWORTH Inland Kenworth is an industry leader in the heavy-duty truck sales, service, and parts marketplace.
