Founded in 2000, the firm offers the legal expertise of more than 115 attorneys who have accumulated decades of experience and problem-solving skills across a wide range of practice areas.We are a vibrant, busy, and growing full-service law firm seeking to expand our professional staff by adding a Legal Assistant / Paralegal with 3-5 years of experience in an administrative and litigation support capacity. This role will support our Mental Health and Hygiene practice group and is based in Lake Success, NY.Key ResponsibilitiesDraft litigation documents, including motions, orders, and post-judgment papersDraft correspondence and court-related documents in accordance with judicial proceduresPrepare, organize, and maintain files in both paper and electronic formatsMaintain detailed Outlook calendars, including scheduling and coordinating internal and external meetingsKnowledge of guardianship pleadings and proceedings is helpfulManage administrative duties including arranging conference calls and meetings, copying, scanning, printing, and file maintenanceCreate, edit, format, and proofread letters, memoranda, and other documents using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointRequest conflict checks, open new client matters, and submit electronic approvals as neededLiaise directly with clients and third parties throughout all phases of litigation and/or case resolutionAnswer phone calls and take accurate messages for multiple attorneys while managing calendarsAssist with additional ad hoc projects as neededParalegal RequirementsExperience drafting legal documents throughout all phases of litigation, including discovery requests, RJIs, motions, stipulations, subpoenas, notices, and post-judgment papersExperience formatting briefs and preparing exhibit booksOCR document experienceExperience filing court documents, including e-filing in both state and federal courts (NYSCEF and ECF)Experience tracking court dates and deadlinesAbility to manage a high-volume caseload with strong organizational skillsEagerness to learn and take initiativeProficiency with MS Office (Excel, Outlook), Adobe, Westlaw, Litify, or similar systemsExcellent written and verbal communication skills with a polished presentationKnowledge, Skills & Attributes3-5 years of experience providing administrative and litigation support in a law firm environmentParalegal Certificate preferredStrong client service and problem-solving skillsHighly detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilitiesFamiliarity with law firm billing systems (Litify or equivalent preferred, not required)Proactive and anticipatory work styleAbility to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environmentStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys and staff at all levelsCompensation & BenefitsSalary range: $55,000-$65,000, commensurate with experienceWe offer a competitive benefits package, including:Paid Time Off (PTO)Paid Holidays401(k)Medical and Life InsuranceEmployee Referral ProgramMentoring and professional development opportunitiesAnd more!
