In this role, you'll work 1-on-1 with the same student(s) each week, building meaningful connections and helping them grow academically over time.You'll set your own schedule, choose the grade levels and subjects you're most comfortable tutoring, and even select the students you'd like to work with. Whether you prefer working with younger students or focusing on specific subjects, you'll have the freedom to create a tutoring experience that fits you. No prior tutoring or teaching experience is required, and students from all majors are welcome to apply!Tutors must be comfortable conducting sessions over Zoom. For safety and quality assurance, all sessions are recorded and reviewed as needed.Responsibilities Maintain a responsive line of communication with your student and their parent/guardianHost tutoring sessions at least once a week for 60 minutes with each studentSupport your student/s through homework help, test prep, study skills, etc.Act as a mentor, not just a tutorRequired Qualifications College/University student awarded Federal Work StudyReside in the United StatesConsent to a DOJ Dru Sjodin Sex Offender Database Background checkComplete all Learn To Be FWS Tutor onboardingDesired Qualifications Understanding of technology or the ability to learn quicklyResponsible, organized and a good communicatorFlexible & empathetic to students from differing circumstancesPassionate about working with K- 12 studentsSpecial Instructions to Applicants Must have FWS and will need to complete a Live Scan.Budget Information Is Federal work-study required?
