CNC Machine Operator - Level ILocation: Greater Los Angeles AreaShift: 2nd Shift (M-F / 3:30pm - 12:00am)Industry: Aerospace ManufacturingPay Range: $19.00 - $28.00 per hourPosition OverviewA precision aerospace manufacturing company in the Greater Los Angeles area is seeking a CNC Machine Operator (Level I) to support production of structural components used in commercial and defense aviation.This position assists in the operation of 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling machines, helping - maintain continuous production while ensuring components meet strict engineering and quality standards. The ideal candidate has experience in a machine shop or CNC manufacturing environment and is comfortable working in a team-oriented production setting.Key Responsibilities Support the operation of multiple CNC milling machines, including 3-axis and 5-axis machining centers. Monitor machine cycles to ensure continuous production of components manufactured from aluminum, titanium, steel, and other aerospace alloys. Assist with loading raw material and unloading finished parts to maximize machine utilization. Follow manufacturing documentation to ensure proper production methods and maintain compliance with quality requirements. Inspect cutting tools and verify tool condition using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring instruments; replace tooling as required. Perform basic dimensional checks to confirm parts meet engineering specifications. Conduct basic deburring and edge finishing to prepare parts for subsequent machining operations. Operate forklifts and overhead cranes to move materials, fixtures, and workholding equipment. Maintain a clean and organized work area using shop organization and continuous improvement practices. Record production activity using manufacturing travelers and ERP systems. Perform routine machine support tasks such as maintaining coolant levels, cleaning filters, and removing chips.QualificationsEducation High school diploma or equivalent requiredExperience Experience operating or supporting CNC machining centers Basic familiarity with CNC G-code Experience with Fanuc or similar CNC controls preferred Exposure to Makino or similar high-precision machining centers is a plus CNC training or technical education (trade school or technical institute) is beneficialCertifications Forklift certification (Cal OSHA compliant) preferred or ability to obtainSkills & Knowledge Ability to use common machine shop tools such as Allen wrenches, torque wrenches, and pneumatic tools Basic computer skills including Windows, Outlook, and Excel Understanding of aerospace quality standards (AS9100) is beneficial Familiarity with ITAR compliance and counterfeit parts awareness is helpful Experience working with ERP systems and electronic manufacturing travelers Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and safety Ability to work effectively within a team-based production environment Clear verbal and written communication in English
