Apprentice Low Voltage Technician Location: Stafford, VA Position Summary We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Low Voltage Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and testing of structured cabling and low voltage systems within commercial and mission-critical environments, including data centers and telecom facilities. This is an entry-level opportunity designed for individuals looking to build a career in the rapidly growing data center and telecommunications infrastructure industry. The Apprentice Technician will work under the supervision of Lead Technicians and Project Managers to gain hands-on experience in fiber optic and copper cabling installations, equipment mounting, and network infrastructure support. Key Responsibilities Assist with installation of low voltage cabling including Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cable Support cable pulling, routing, dressing, labeling, and termination activities Assist with installation of ladder rack, cable tray, J-hooks, and other support structures Perform basic testing of copper and fiber cabling using industry-standard test equipment Assist with rack and stack of network equipment, patch panels, and PDUs Maintain clean and organized job sites in accordance with safety standards Read and interpret basic work orders, drawings, and installation instructions Follow all OSHA and site-specific safety requirements Provide general support to Lead Technicians and installation teams as needed Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required Interest in telecommunications, networking, or data center environments Ability to use basic hand tools (screwdrivers, drills, crimpers, etc.) Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders when needed Reliable transportation to and from job sites Strong work ethic and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications Previous construction, electrical, or cabling experience Familiarity with structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA) OSHA 10 Certification Experience working in commercial construction or technical environments Experience with hand and power tools
