Along with professional staff and in collaboration with the entire Fraternity and Sorority Life team, the Public Relations Greek Leadership Assistant is responsible for assisting Greek organizations; strengthening the Greek community through public relations initiatives, programming, promotion and education; and enhancing the quality and sustainability of the Greek community at Chapman University. The Public Relations Greek Leadership Assistant is a member of the Department of Student Engagement and the Division of Student Affairs.Responsibilities Attend weekly Greek Life staff meetingAttend annual staff training eventsAct as a liaison between Department of Student Engagement and Greek organizationsRespond to all Greek Life communication in a timely and professional mannerCommunicate regularly with chapter leadership and members (make announcements in Chapter meetings when necessary)Manage the Greek Calendar and the Greek Life email accountAssist in other duties as assignedPublic RelationsManage and develop content for the Fraternity and Sorority Life Office social media accounts. Work alongside professional staff and graduate assistants to develop, plan, and complete social media campaigns Create content for FSL programs (fliers, slides, digital marketing, t-shirts)Manage an FSL Office newsletter to internal and external community membersBe available for tabling at all events where the FSL Office is in attendance (tabling and/or presenting at Preview Day, Discover Chapman Day, Involvement Fair, etc.)ProgrammingAssist in Department of Student Engagement and Greek Life events (Staff development meetings, etc.)Work alongside professional staff and Graduate Assistants to develop, plan, and implement trainings and meetings for organization leadership (including executive members and advisors as needed)Support and/or facilitate education and programs for the fraternity and sorority leadership and community (New Member Educator Training, Presidents Retreat, FS Leadership Summit)Plan and implement New Member Education, Hazing Prevention Week, Academic Achievement programming, Skit Night, and other community-wide programming opportunitiesAssess events and programs (track attendance, plan make-up, send evaluations, etc.)SystemsAssist with management and organization of the FSL SharepointEvent supportAdvise and support Greek organizations in planning events (brainstorm ideas, discuss purpose and best practice, etc.)Check 25Live and approve or deny chapter scheduling requestsAct as experts in all steps of event planning (waivers, facilities, contracts, SEAC, etc.)Assist Greek organizations in upholding all University and chapter policiesRequired Qualifications Experience as member of a Greek organizationStrong ability to create, manage, and execute public relation campaignsStrong understanding of social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, etc.)Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skillsAbility to experience initiative and work independently and with a groupStrong interpersonal and customer service skillsAbility to use standard office equipment including computer, copier, telephonesAbility to work nights and weekends when applicableDesired Qualifications Campus leadership experiencePrior experience planning, coordinating, and executing logistics of a program or eventKnowledge of or experience with campus policies and proceduresEffectiveness in establishing rapport with Greek organization members and executive leadersAbility to work with frequent interruptionsSpecial Instructions to Applicants Lead GLAs will work approximately 10-15 hours per week.Budget Information Is Federal work-study required?
