Ideal candidates should have joyful, positive presence, great customer service and strong organizational skills with attention to detail.Position PurposeThe accounting clerk is responsible for assisting in the management of the school's financial records with accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality. This part-time position supports the mission of the school by ensuring sound financial practices while upholding the values and teachings of the Catholic Church.Major Responsibilities and Duties: Tuition and BillingManage FACTS FinancialInvoice familiesTrack paymentsPost financial assistance to families' FACTSManage Tuition Express for Extended Day billingPayroll & HROversee collecting timecardsAssist with benefits enrollmentFinancial ManagementHandle petty cashManage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and ensure timely bill payments and invoicingTrack donationsAdministrative SupportSupport the principal and officeAttend major fundraising events to help with internal bankCommunicate with vendorsAt times, cover the front deskOtherAbility to maintain confidentiality in all mattersAbility to adapt to changing work prioritiesAbility to meet deadlines and schedules and independently set prioritiesAbility to work as a team member with colleaguesOther duties as assigned. Qualification ProfileAny combination of education and experience providing the required skills and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)Prior bookkeeping or accounting experience required; school or nonprofit experience preferredStrong attention to detail, organization, and accuracyAbility to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalismStrong communication and interpersonal skillsThe candidate must exhibit a commitment to the mission and values of Catholic educationExcellent communication skills, verbal and writtenPhysical and Mental Demands, Work HazardsWorks in standard office and school building environments.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time.Physically able to perform the duties as assigned including the ability to lift up to 20-30 pounds if needed. This is a 12-month position with flexible work hours. It will equate to 15-21 hours a week.
