HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT Your Role: * Intermediate-level (unarmed) security officer position. * Ensures colleagues,' patients,' and visitors' safety; patrols and surveils all hospital campus areas and responds to emergencies quickly and appropriately. * Displays an understanding of diversity. * Demonstrates integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence (I CARE values). * Enhances and contributes to a safe environment for all colleagues, visitors, and patients. * Patrols and surveils hospital campus; provides unarmed security. * Responds to emergencies and drills (e.g., infant/child abductions ("code pinks"), fires ("code reds"), disasters ("code greens") and violent/security events ("code greys"). * Investigates thefts, burglaries, automobile collisions, and other violations. * Delivers medication and emergency shipments. * Assists staff members with patients. * Completes required training. * Performs miscellaneous duties not expressly described herein. Reports To: Supervisor/Security (JC: 081001). Supervises: None. WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO APPLY Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., certificate of high school equivalency. Required Experience: One (1) year of relevant, job-related work experience. Required Certification/License/Registry: * Successful completion of the Field Training Officer (FTO) Program (provided by the Supervisor/Security). * Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) credential from the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS). * Blue Card certification from the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI). * American Red Cross (ARC) first aid certification. Preferred Certification/License/Registry: * Must earn the following to advance to Public Safety Officer III (JC: 080207): * TASER certification from a certified instructor. * Handcuff certification from a certified instructor. * Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare is an equal opportunity employer and drug-free workplace.
