Reports to the Operations Manager. Examples of DutiesESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Perform such cleaning duties as sweeping, mopping floors, and vacuuming seats and upholstery using appropriate cleaning equipment.Clean and disinfect all areas of the vehicle after hazmat interactions.Dust and wash windows, mirrors, interior glass, window casing and tracks, ledges and overhead compartments.Clean and shampoo upholstery if applicable.Wash walls, handrails, overhead compartment doors to remove such items as splash marks, fingerprints and grease marks. Clean and polish, mirrors and any chrome areas.Adjust seating as needed for handicap accessibility.Empty trash from vehicles.Resupply fleet vehicles with any needed supplies such as paper towels and hand sanitizer.Requests supplies as needed.Report damage, malfunctions and other irregularities of the vehicle to supervisor.Turn in lost and found articles, putting them in the lost and found cabinet and recording each item found on the sheet. Follow ICATS policies and OSHA safety regulations.Properly clean and maintain equipment and work area at the end of each shift.Keeps worker's storage and work areas clean at all times.Perform related duties as assigned including but not limited to the following:Changing shifts temporarily to perform detailed cleaning of specific vehicles and/or ICATS facilities.Cleaning of areas other than vehicles, including buildings and grounds, as requested.ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:Performs other related work as required.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:Pre-soak or rinse the exterior of the bus with cleaning solutions or water manually or using a hose.Scrub, scrape, or spray bus when needed may require using equipment for brushing, scraping, cleaning, and disinfecting.Usage of uniform or proper clothing for manual washing and bus drying may involve using acid, abrasives, vacuums, and hoses.According to formulas, mix cleaning solutions, abrasive compositions, and other compounds.Cleaning and polishing of bus vehicle windows.Cleaning of items within the bus units.Cleaning interior.Applying sanitizer in the vehicle.Inspect buses for cleanliness and comply with standards or regulations.Cleaned inside of operations building, cleaned and sanitized bathrooms, vacuumed carpet, mopped tile floors, and disposed of trash.Dusting and cleaning of hard surfaces, windows, etc. Typical QualificationsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE "REQUIREMENTS":Basic knowledge of cleaning methods, techniques, and equipment.High School Diploma/GED is required. Frequent lifting of up to approximately 50 lbs. is required.This position involves extensive bending, stretching, and twisting to complete the job duties. ADDITIONAL "REQUIREMENTS":Must be bondable and able to relate to people of all ages and economic and ethnic backgrounds. Must comply with NCDOT/FTA requirements for pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug and alcohol tests as deemed appropriate by the Iredell County Area Transportation System current approved Substance Testing Policy. Must have a telephone. Must have at least a North Carolina Class C Driver's License.Background checks are performed as a condition of employment and performed every three years thereafter.
