As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Quality and Food Safety Coordinator. What We Are Looking For: The QA & Food Safety Coordinator is a mid-level technical role responsible for owning and advancing key quality assurance programs at the Pasco facility. This position goes beyond administrative support - it takes independent ownership of data analysis, trending, SOP development, customer complaint investigation, and root cause analysis. The Coordinator works closely with the QA & Food Safety Manager to drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with BRC, FSMA, and customer requirements, while actively reducing the operational burden on the QA Manager. Work Location: On-site at our Pasco Location. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Program Ownership & Documentation * Develop, write, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality program documentation in alignment with BRC and FSMA requirements. * Own and manage assigned quality programs from documentation through implementation, training, and record review. * Lead ongoing organization and maintenance of the facility's SOP Library and controlled document system. * Assist with preparation and hosting of BRC, regulatory, and customer audits; own corrective action follow-up for assigned findings. Data Analysis & Trending * Maintain accurate, complete, and timely quality records and data entry across assigned programs, ensuring data is clean and consistent for facility and corporate-level reporting. * Compile and organize quality data for plant-level review meetings, including identifying obvious patterns or recurring issues worth escalating (e.g., repeated defects in the same product, line, or time period). * Maintain proficiency in Microsoft Excel at a functional level; ability to organize data in a clear, usable format. * Support the QA Manager with data pulls and report preparation as needed. Customer Complaints & Root Cause Analysis * Serve as the facility point of contact for customer complaint investigations, gathering relevant production records, retain samples, photos, and supporting documentation. * Apply structured root cause analysis (5 Why, fishbone, etc.) to identify contributing factors and document findings in a clear, organized format for use by corporate QA in preparing the formal customer response. * Track open complaints and corrective action status, following up with operations to ensure actions are completed and documented. * Maintain organized complaint files to support traceability and trend awareness. Environmental Monitoring & Food Safety * Maintain awareness of facility environmental monitoring results and trends as reported by the lab. * Assist with investigation and documentation when presumptive or confirmed positive results occur, including supporting corrective action tracking and follow-up. * Coordinate with the lab team as needed to ensure records are complete and findings are properly documented. Training & Cross-Functional Support * Assist with developing and delivering quality and food safety training programs for production and QA staff. * Serve as a resource and backup for the QA Manager; able to represent QA in meetings and cross-functional projects. * Coordinate with other TCF facilities to align practices and share data as directed. * Perform other duties as assigned in support of facility quality and food safety goals. Knowledge, Skill and Experience Required: * Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered. * PCQI (Preventive Controls for Human Food) certification required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire * HACCP certification preferred * 2-3 years of experience in food processing, food safety, or quality assurance in a manufacturing environment * Demonstrated ability to write clear, well-organized SOPs and technical documents * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; experience with root cause analysis tools * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with pivot tables, Power Query, or data dashboards strongly preferred * Familiarity with BRC, SQF, or similar GFSI-recognized food safety schemes * Working knowledge of FSMA Preventive Controls, HACCP principles, and GMP requirements * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision * Ability to communicate in Spanish a plus Essential Physical Abilities: * Ability to work at a desk/computer for extended periods as well as move throughout the production facility as needed * Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds * Exposure to plant environment conditions including wet, cold, noisy, and chemically-treated areas; appropriate PPE required * Ability to travel locally between TCF facilities on an occasional basis * Sufficient mobility to access all areas of the facility including elevated walkways and confined equipment areas * Selected employees will be required to pass a background check, pre-employment drug screen and E-Verify* Twin City Foods, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
