For more information, visit .HOURLY RATE: $28.50POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for supporting the management of stormwater issues at Vigor Industrial facilities in Oregon, Washington, and Alaska. Position responsibilities include assisting in compliance with stormwater permits, providing support on stormwater issues, maintaining stormwater infrastructure, stormwater sampling, performing inspections, training personnel, and coordination of activities with environmental and production personnel. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: (This list is not intended to detail all aspects of the assigned work but is representative of the job's overall responsibilities.)Maintain stormwater infrastructure and equipment.Conduct regular site inspections for adherence to environmental best management practices. Assist with stormwater inspections and sampling.Assist in the execution of stormwater projects as directed. Work closely with facility environmental managers and production personnel to ensure compliance and consistently improve the company's environmental performance.Interact with subcontractors working at Vigor facilities to ensure compliance with company permits and policies. Plan and conduct stormwater related activities across multiple locations.JOB SCOPE: Operates independently within general parameters outlined above using sound judgment and discretion to make decisions while in the field. Advise management of compliance and safety issues which merit attention. Has the ability to influence and recommend modifications to company operations to attain and maintain environmental compliance and improve performance. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: NoneINTERPERSONAL CONTACTS:The Stormwater Technician coordinates her/his efforts with managers and supervisors at all levels in the business unit as well as the general workforce to reinforce environmental directives and inspire adherence to corporate environmental goals and initiatives. The position is regularly required to interact with production and facility maintenance personnel. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Shipyard and/or manufacturing environment experience helpful.Ability to water sampling techniques.Forklift certification.Mechanically inclined.Ability to work independently and outdoors during inclement weather.Ability to exercise sound judgment, work well independently, prioritize duties and follow through tasks to completion. Ability to use PC and software applications such as MS Office a plus.Other duties may be assigned.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS: Has ability to obtain 40-HR HAZWOPER certification PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to navigate into areas where work is being performed and assess safety risks is required. Must be able to walk to and from job sites. The person must be able to climb inclined stairways and vertical ladders; to enter confined areas and tanks; to work at heights. The incumbent must be able to frequently bend, squat, crawl, twist and may be required to lift up to 40 pounds. May be required to work more than 8-hour shifts on first second or third shift and also weekends and holidays as needed. WORK ENVIRONMENT:While in production areas, will be exposed to all weather conditions, noise, dusts and odors.
