IT Support Specialist

STR is seeking an IT Support Specialist with ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE to play a hands-on role in keeping our employees productive and our technology running smoothly. In this role, you'll be the front line of IT support-solving problems, supporting local and remote staff, and partnering with a collaborative IT team in a mission-driven, technical environment.If you enjoy troubleshooting, working directly with users, and learning new technologies, this role offers meaningful impact and growth.What You'll DoProvide first-line IT support to local, remote, and mobile employees by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and system issuesTroubleshoot and resolve issues across Windows, macOS, and Linux environmentsProvision and configure laptops, desktops, mobile devices, phones, and voicemailCreate, maintain, and deploy Windows and macOS system imagesManage user accounts, permissions, and access in Active Directory and Linux environmentsMaintain accurate inventory of hardware, software, and licensesDocument solutions and procedures in the IT knowledge baseAdminister and support the IT service management (ITSM) systemSupport office technology including scanners, printers, and workstationsAssist with onboarding, offboarding, and intern program IT supportCollaborate with the IT team on broader infrastructure, server, and network supportParticipate in occasional off-hours or on-call support as neededRequired QualificationsActive Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)Minimum High School Diploma or equivalentHands-on experience providing desktop or helpdesk IT supportStrong troubleshooting and customer service skillsExperience supporting Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systemsFamiliarity with Active Directory user administrationAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentPreferred Qualifications3+ years of IT support or helpdesk experienceExperience supporting engineering and business applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, MATLAB, Visual Studio, VMware)Experience supporting Dell and Apple hardwareIntermediate Active Directory skills (users, groups, printers, resources)IT certifications such as Network+, Security+, or Linux+Strong documentation, organization, and time-management skillsCollaborative, adaptable, and eager to learnPay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $72,000 - $90,000The salary range listed is based on external market data.
