Manager, Manufacturing (Night Shift) This is a management position during the night shift, located onsite in the Versant Health Optical Lab in Newtown Square, PA. The hours are Monday-Friday 5:00pm-3:30am. Scope and Purpose of Position: The Manager, Manufacturing is responsible for all aspects of manufacturing operations including associate training and development, monitoring and growth of a Quality Management System (QMS), P&L responsibility, continuous process improvement, cost savings, cultural development and growth, inventory control, supplier/vendor relations, and internal/external customer service and satisfaction. Essential Functions: Oversee all manufacturing operations with accountability for quality, cost, delivery, safety, and customer satisfaction Drive site performance based on identified Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including productivity, quality, cost, capacity, and service metrics Ensure consistent processes and procedures are maintained to support efficient operations and enhance customer satisfaction Lead continuous improvement efforts across manufacturing, quality, and support functions to eliminate waste, improve throughput, and reduce costs Develop metrics and KPI's from the customer back to ensure that exceptional customer service is achieved Facilitate team-based approach to strategic planning and implementation, financial and purchasing management, and customer satisfaction Lead and develop the skills and capabilities of site management team Supervise team to include selection, training and development, coaching, counseling, and performance management; Address performance issues promptly and fairly; Maintain records and report on productivity, attendance, and performance metrics Provide coverage as needed for Lab Supervisors during absences and callouts Enforce and Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures Promote a safe and healthy work environment Maintain open and transparent communication with team members Listen actively to concerns and feedback Ensure that important information flows effectively between management and staff Perform additional duties as assigned Experience, Education, and Certifications/Licenses: Education High School Diploma or Equivalent Required Notes: Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience 5 Years Required Notes: 5+ years of supervisory experience in a high-volume manufacturing facility required Experience supervising a diverse workforce in a fast-paced environment required Knowledge of laboratory operations, equipment, workflow and procedures, and quality systems required Ability to read and comprehend complex, English instructions, correspondence, and/or memos as well as the capacity to write similar correspondence relaying opportunities or findings required Licenses and Certifications Six Sigma black belt certification Preferred Notes: Competencies: Cultivate Strong People: Field the best employees and leverage their full capacity. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to stand, use hands and fingers to handle, feel, pick or pinch, and talk or hear most of the time. The associate is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The noise level in this location is moderate (use of computers, printers and machines). Ability and willingness to travel as required. The salary starts at $80,000/annually.
