SEIU 32BJ Training FundNew YorkPart-time Adult Education InstructorThe 32BJ Training Fund is seeking qualified part-time adult education instructor candidates in one or more of our training locations, including remote online classes.About us:SEIU 32BJ is a service union that represents cleaners, maintenance workers, service staff, and security officers in the New York City area and nine other states on the East Coast. Our mission is to educate every member so that they have the tools they need to meet the challenges of a changing industry.Who we're looking for:Creative, dynamic teachers with good interpersonal skills who enjoy working in diverse linguistic and cultural settingsExperienced professionals looking to empower workers through relevant adult educationResponsibilities:Plan and implement lesson plans aligned to program curriculum, incorporating provided educational materialsTeach content with a student-centered approachImplement, adapt, and supplement lessons plans from our curriculumMaintain and submit records of attendanceMaintain ongoing communication with supervisorParticipate in applicable professional development activities as availableQualificationsStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with students from a variety of linguistic and cultural backgroundsAble to use digital platforms to instruct, communicate, and record program data.Appropriate license or certification required for some courses.COVID-19 Considerations:Record of completed COVID-19 vaccine or confirmed medical/religious exemptionCompliance with current COVID-19 protocols of the organizationClasses offered:Sessions are scheduled Monday through Friday, from 9am to 9pm, and on Saturdays from 9am to 4pm.Teaching schedule is based on instructor's availability during the times sessions are held.
