Position Type: Human Resource/Family LiaisonDate Posted: 3/2/2026Location: District 102 Administration CenterDate Available: 03/09/2026Closing Date: Until FilledEEO StatementThe LaGrange School District 102 in accordance with federal laws, Presidential Executive Orders, and state and local laws provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, religion, color, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), parental status, national origin, age, disability, family medical history or genetic information, political affiliation, military service, or other non-merit based factors.LaGrange District 102 is committed to building and sustaining a multicultural school community that fosters equity, diversity, and inclusion.QualificationsBachelor's degreeFluency and literacy in English and Spanish preferredExcellent communication and public speaking skills in both English and Spanish are preferredExperience with families and students from diverse cultural, ethnic, and racial backgroundsExperience with community outreach, event planning, and coordinationExperience with IEP/504 processes and support preferredAbility to accurately collect data and maintain organized reportsKnowledge and experience with MS Office suite, Google Docs, and PowerSchool experience preferredDuties & ResponsibilitiesDevelop relationships with families via phone calls, home visits, events, and meetings in order to encourage participation in school and/or district activities and eventsDevelop relationships with community groups that can serve as a source of resources and activities that will increase families' participation in school and parent training opportunitiesConduct welcome sessions and intake conferences for families new to the districtProvide interpreting services in English and Spanish for parents, students, and staff during any type of activity where effective communication would require it (i.e., meetings, events, various conferences, workshops, etc)Assess student and family needs in order to develop action plans that remove barriers to student achievementPlan and executes a variety of activities for families and students from diverse cultural, ethnic, and racial backgroundsInform parents concerning district policy and procedures (i.e., registration, PTO, curriculum, assessment, discipline, etc)Assist the activities related to the Bilingual Parent Advisory CouncilProvide transcription between English and Spanish of materials designed to inform families and community members (i.e., letters, announcements, notices, web content, flyers, newsletters, special education documents, etc)Maintain accurate records and reports of activities for program grants, Board of Education, district, and state auditorsAdvocate for families and students from diverse cultural, ethnic, and racial backgrounds while supporting district effortsServe as a source of insights while working directly with families and staff to identify challenges and develop solutionsAttend staff meetings, in-service training, and professional development as neededPerform other tasks and projects as assigned by the Director of Human Resources and Public RelationsApplication ProcedureOnline applications only, please.
