Labeling Specialist (Part-Time) Job Description We are seeking two highly motivated individuals for a part-time Labeling Specialist role on an 8-12 month contract, with the potential to convert to a permanent position. This role supports the Director of Regulatory Affairs in a fast-paced and growing regulatory department within the Pet Industry. Candidates located in or willing to self-relocate to the Minneapolis, MN area are preferred, though remote candidates will be considered. Remote candidates may be required to travel periodically to Minneapolis. The position involves flexible hours ranging from 16-24 hours per week during first shift business hours. Responsibilities + Develop an understanding of FDA and USDA labeling regulations and company policies. + Work closely with the labeling team to support project and business work. + Develop and maintain accurate food labeling information for finished products to assure compliance with federal, state, and third-party certification standards. + Collaborate across functional teams to ensure compliance with local and regional regulations and company policies. + Complete and submit documentation to support regulatory requirements and claims. + Review and approve artwork, packaging, graphics, and text of product labels to ensure accuracy and compliance. + Develop communication for consumer and customer inquiries pertaining to labeling. + Manage regulatory, food safety, litigation, brand, and third-party risk for products and businesses, providing input into risk management decisions. Essential Skills + Bachelor's degree in a scientific field of study. + 2-4 years of regulatory experience. + Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills. + Ability to work with outside regulatory agencies. + Strong attention to detail. + Strong organizational skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in the Consumer Products industry is preferred. + Prior experience with the pet food industry. + Prior Consumer Packaging Claims experience is a plus. + Desire to progress to more senior roles within the regulatory function. + Working knowledge of government regulatory structure and processes. + Pet enthusiast preferred. Work Environment This role operates during first shift hours with the possibility of flexible summer hours (work longer Monday-Thursday, with a half-day on Friday) based on group and business needs. The position is part of a collaborative team of Specialists and Coordinators where effective communication and interpersonal skills are highly valued. Candidates will need a personal laptop (PC preferred) to log in through a company-provided VPN. The position offers holiday pay for six major holidays and accrued sick pay. There is a strong preference for hiring contract workers into full-time positions, as many previous contractors have transitioned to full-time roles. Exceptional benefits are offered. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Plymouth, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
