Overview:A recognized leader who is responsible for envisioning, designing and delivering exceptional projects for clients. Possesses strong communication skills, a flexible attitude, ability to solve problems creatively and ability to foster and manage effective client relationships. Responsible for high-impact decisions. Coordinates with design talent across the firm and industry to elevate the quality of work overall. Endorses the firm's values by personally influencing client service, innovation and communication. Acts as subject matter expert for design solutions.Responsibilities:Acts as lead designer on multiple projects developing conceptual design, presentations and implementation documentsGuides and directs multiple project teams to manage the development of design throughout design development and implementation documentsEstablishes the vision and sets project goals in conjunction with the client and project teamLeads design effort and client presentations to develop and support client relationshipsExercises skills of persuasion and negotiation on critical issuesDevelops creative design concepts for projects and expands on concepts of othersManages design solutions based on industry standard construction techniques and engineering principalsOversees schematic land and site planning drawings with graphic content to convey ideas, methodologies and approaches for marketing and proposal requestsOversees the development of and may modify and/or review graphic presentations, 3D rendering and implementation documents to incorporate the design intentOversees delivery of complete project design presentation to client user group or public forumCoordinates with consultants, contractors, fabricators, furniture dealers and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives; manages project details with consulting design or engineering firmsResolves complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions to maintain goals and objectives of projectsWorks with respective teams to manage client expectations, team communication and consultant coordinationOversees product research and directs project designers with materials and systems evaluation to make proper selectionsLeads and collaborates in team meetings to discuss project issues, technical issues and coordination with other disciplinesQualifications:Education and ExperienceAccredited professional degree in Architecture, Interior Design or related fieldTypically 15+ years of experienceLicenses and CertificationsArchitectural registration strongly preferredSustainable design accreditation preferredAdvanced - expert-level experience, knowledge or skillsIntermediate - experience, knowledge or skills required to produce high-quality solutions or workBasic - familiar with primary concepts or capabilities and can perform elementary functionsKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAdvanced experience and skills in Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper and Dynamo requiredIntermediate skills in Navis and Bluebeam requiredIntermediate skills in Twinmotion, Enscape or other visualization tools requiredAdvanced experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign requiredIntermediate skills in in MS Office Suite required; Advanced preferredAdvanced experience with managing a team and performing duties in a fast-paced environment requiredAdvanced knowledge of materials, construction techniques , building codes and QA/QC processAdvanced experience with the entire project lifecycle, through post-occupancy requiredAdvanced knowledge of sustainability and integrated design guidelines requiredAdvanced knowledge of the appropriate use of building systems, materials and technologies record requiredIntermediate knowledge of furniture, furnishings and equipment (FF&E) and Environmental Graphic process requiredAdvanced knowledge of architectural building systems, applicable codes and regulations requiredAdvanced presentation skills and graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas requiredAdvanced organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time requiredAdvanced ability to maintain existing client relationships and build new client relationships requiredAdvanced ability to communicate in a clear, concise and professional manner both verbally and in writing requiredAdvanced ability to problem solve and apply innovative solutions requiredAdvanced ability to collaborate and encourage collaboration in a team environment requiredAdvanced ability to effectively meet deadlines at expected quality requiredTravel may be requiredBase Salary Range: $115K to $150k annually - Los Angeles Location onlyThe estimate displayed represents the general base salary range of candidates hired in the Los Angeles location only. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on the location of the role.
