A Campus Security Authority (or CSA) is defined as an "official of the institution with significant responsibility for student and campus activities". A CSA is required to immediately report any crime that is reported to them to the University Police who will then review, evaluate, and investigate the reported crime. Annual training is required by the Department of Education for all personnel who have been designated as a Campus Security Authority.Designated Personnel No Designated Personnel Statement This position is a "designated position" meaning this position could potentially be required to work (depending on the event) during an emergency closing.Statement of Economic Interest No Statement of Economic Interest StatementRestricted Position No Restricted Position StatementChief Objective of Position To coordinate programs, events, and student engagement activities that support the recruitment, enrollment, and career preparation of new and continuing students participating in the Community Captains Program, the Hampton City Schools Education Partnership, and other educational partnerships. This position reports to the Director of School Partnerships and Outreach and plays a key role in supporting the planning and execution of partnership-based initiatives that promote access, preparation, and success for prospective and current students. A key aspect of the position is serving as a liaison to both internal departments and external partners to coordinate resources, manage programs, and achieve program outcomes.Work Tasks Purpose:This position provides comprehensive support to the Senior Director of School Partnerships and Outreach and to the Center for Career Planning in coordinating and managing high-impact programs, including the Community Captains Program, the Hampton Captains initiative, and other educational and work-based learning partnerships. The Coordinator plays a vital role in the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of program activities designed to support student recruitment, enrollment, retention, and leadership and career development.School Partnerships:Support existing educational partnerships by coordinating programs, events and student engagement activities that support the recruitment, enrollment and coaching of new and continuing students participating in educational partnershipsPlan and execute partnership-based initiatives that promote access, preparation and success for prospective and current studentsExplore new school partnershipsRegularly communicate and collaborate with school system partners to coordinate participation, align programming objectives and share information critical to partnership successOrganize and manage logistics for program-related events, workshops, service days and outreach initiativesMaintain detailed records of student interactions, program outcomes and partnership activities within designated systems to support data-driven decision making and program evaluationCareer Partnerships:Collaborate with the Center for Career Planning to design events for students that incorporates employers for career exploration and preparationCreate a structured pathway of major and career exploration and experiential learning opportunities for students throughout their time in college: includes major/career exploration, skill development and networking events to increase access to internship/job opportunitiesConduct outreach to local employers and build relationships to create and recruit students for internships/work-based learning opportunitiesPartner with employer development team in the Center for Career Planning to maintain employer contacts in Handshake databaseExpand internships/work-based learning opportunities, including micro-internships, and support student access and attainment of opportunitiesMaintain detailed records of student and employer engagement and work-based learning participationThis position is designated as a "responsible employee" who has the authority to redress sexual violence, who has the duty to report incidents of sexual violence or other student misconduct, or who a student could reasonably believe has this authority or duty.Develops and maintains very positive and professional customer service and/or relations within the office/department and with all constituencies to include students, faculty, staff, guests, and employees.
