QA Automation Engineer - Playwright with Typescript About the role As a QA Automation Engineer - Playwright with Typescript, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and executing high quality automated and manual tests to support the delivery of robust web, mobile, and API solutions. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering and Assurance team, working collaboratively with product owners, developers, and cross functional partners in an Agile environment. In this role, you will: * Design, develop, execute, and maintain automation test scripts for functional, integration, regression, smoke, and end to end testing. * Develop and enhance web automation frameworks using Playwright with TypeScript, applying best practices like Page Object Model and reusable utilities. * Perform mobile automation testing using Appium for Android and iOS applications. * Build and maintain API automation suites using RestAssured to validate backend services. * Support and strengthen automation using Selenium WebDriver with Java where needed. * Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and automated regression execution. * Utilize AI assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve velocity, coverage, and automation efficiency. * Conduct functional and manual testing to support feature validation and exploratory testing. * Analyze test failures, debug issues, and perform root cause analysis with development teams. * Create and maintain test data, test environments, and test execution reports. * Log and track defects using Jira, ensuring timely retesting and closure. * Collaborate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, grooming, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. * Communicate testing progress, quality metrics, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders. Based on this role's business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring attendance in our client or Cognizant office in Plano, TX. The working arrangements for this role are accurate as of the date of posting and may change based on project, business, or client needs. What you need to have to be considered * 6-8 years of hands on experience in QA automation. * Strong experience with Playwright (TypeScript) for web automation. * Experience using Appium for mobile automation(nice to have) * Solid experience with RestAssured for API automation. * Working knowledge of Selenium WebDriver with Java. * Expertise in functional, regression, integration, and end to end testing. * Strong debugging and troubleshooting abilities across UI, API, and mobile layers. * Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions). * Proficiency with Git/GitHub. * Experience with AI assisted tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot). * Strong understanding of SDLC, QA processes, and test life cycle. * Hands on experience working in Agile/Scrum teams. * Experience with Jira for test execution tracking and defect management. * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
