Hardware Electrical Engineer

As a Hardware Electrical Engineer at Meta, you will design, develop, and integrate electrical systems for a wide range of applications, from next-generation consumer hardware to large-scale infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams-including mechanical, optical, firmware, software, and manufacturing experts-to deliver impactful solutions. Your work may span the full product or system lifecycle, from early prototyping and feasibility studies to large-scale deployment. Minimum Qualifications * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, and/or equivalent industry experience * 8+ years of experience in electrical design, including system-level architecture and integration * Demonstrated technical leadership in at least one electrical engineering domain (e.g., power, display, sensors, infrastructure, high-speed interfaces, analog/mixed-signal) * Documented experience delivering products or systems from concept through prototyping, validation, and mass production or large-scale deployment * Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams and mentoring engineers * Proficiency with industry-standard design, simulation, and analysis tools (e.g., Cadence, Altium, SPICE, MATLAB, or similar) * Experience communicating technical decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders (e.g., design reviews, technical specifications, project updates) Preferred Qualifications * MS or PHD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering * 12+ years of industry experience in electrical design * Experience with audio technologies * Experience with high speed signaling over MIPI C-PHY/D-PHY, PCIe, USB SS and UFS * Experience with IMUs/sensor physical sensor systems with an understanding of calibration methods * Experience with vision systems * Experience programming in languages like Python or C/C++ * Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements) * Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews) * Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies Responsibilities * Lead the electrical development of highly complex systems or multiple subsystems, driving technical direction and architecture * Define and drive electrical architecture, system integration, and technical strategy for major projects * Lead cross-functional design reviews, resolve technical conflicts, and ensure alignment across engineering disciplines * Drive innovation by identifying and implementing new technologies, processes, or methodologies to improve system/product performance, reliability, and features * Oversee hardware bring-up, debugging, and support for manufacturing, assembly, deployment, or operational readiness at scale * Evaluate and influence vendor and partner solutions, ensuring alignment with Meta's requirements and long-term strategy * Mentor and coach engineers at all levels * Operate autonomously, set direction for teams, and manage priorities across multiple projects or workstreams * Collaborate globally across distributed teams, influencing cross-organization initiatives and technical strategy * Champion operational clarity, compliance, and specialized requirements, driving continuous improvement and best practices About Meta Meta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
