SummaryThe Field Safety Advisor (FSA) minimizes job-related risks by providing technical safety support across our offices, warehouses, and remote sites. The FSA strengthens our safety culture and ensures compliance at every level by delivering comprehensive training and upholding company policies, industry best practices & standards, and government regulations.Responsibilities:Cultivate Strategic Partnerships: Develop strong cross-functional relationships to align operations with company policies and local, state, and federal safety standards.Foster Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Act as a primary resource for all departments, offering guidance and support to resolve EH&S-related issues.Ensure Program Compliance: Oversee the implementation of all EH&S programs and policies, ensuring consistent adherence to corporate and regulatory requirements.Promote On-Site Safety: Maintain a daily presence at offices, warehouses, and remote sites to proactively identify injury and illness risks for employees and subcontractors.Establish Safe Procedures: Design and implement safe work practices and procedures to mitigate identified hazards and ensure a secure working environment.Conduct Risk Evaluations: Perform regular safety inspections and audits to evaluate potential hazards and recommend actionable solutions to minimize risk.Collaborate on Safety Plans: Review and provide input on the preparation and approval of project-specific safety plans to ensure they meet all operational requirements.Oversee Subcontractor Safety: Support subcontractor compliance through comprehensive safety orientations and ongoing monitoring of safe work practices.Facilitate Competency Training: Design and deliver both theoretical and practical safety training to ensure team members meet all necessary competency standards.Provide Guidance: Serve as a primary subject matter expert, supporting teams through specialized education, training programs, and process development.Provide Technical Consulting: Serve as a subject matter expert, offering general and technical guidance for simple and complex safety challenges.Support Incident Investigations: Assist in thorough investigations of workplace incidents, contributing to root cause analysis and the development of effective corrective actions.Monitor Corrective Actions: Track the completion and evaluate the long-term effectiveness of corrective action plans to ensure systemic safety improvements.Support Safety Resource Planning: Partner with teams to identify equipment needs and facilitate the procurement of necessary safety gear to ensure a secure working environment.Support EH&S Documentation: Assist in the development and maintenance of safety records, including training logs and compliance files, to ensure departmental accuracy and readiness.Maintain Industry Expertise: Proactively monitor evolving safety trends, legal changes, and regulatory updates to ensure the business remains at the forefront of safety excellence.Adapt to Operational Needs: Perform additional duties as assigned by the management team to support the overall safety and health objectives of the company.Minimum AttributesExceptional Communication: Deliver clear, concise, and persuasive messaging across all levels of the organization, ensuring safety protocols are standards into practical site-level compliance.Strategic Project Planning: Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of safety initiatives, ensuring they align with broader company goals.Precision and Detail: Maintain an unwavering commitment to accuracy in hazard identification, documentation, and reportingMinimum Qualifications/RequirementsProven Safety Expertise: One to three years of demonstrated experience in safety management, with a track record of implementing effective site-level protocols.Deep Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 (Construction Standards), and ANSI standards, and current industry best practices.Digital Proficiency: High level of competence in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) for data analysis, reporting, and training development.Fleet Readiness: Possession of a valid driver's license and the ability to safely operate company vehicles in diverse environments.Compliance & Reliability: Commitment to maintaining a safe and professional workspace by meeting all pre-employment and ongoing screening requirements, including background and drug testing.Educational Foundation: Completion of a High School Diploma or GED; additional safety certifications or specialized training is preferred.Professional Credentials & Specialized ExpertiseAdvanced Safety Certifications: Possession of, or the ability to obtain, professional credentials such as OSHA CHSO or SSH, or BCSP (STSC/CHST),Certified Instructional Capabilities: Possession of "Train-the-Trainer" certifications, enabling the delivery of authorized training in critical areas such as First Aid/CPR, Authorized Climbing, and Technical Rescue.Specialized Technical Training: Demonstrated expertise and the ability to certify personnel in high-risk disciplines, including Confined Space Entry, Rigging and Lifting, and Fall Protection.Physical DemandsPhysical Agility & Resilience: Ability to maintain a mobile presence, including standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods as required by site or office activities.Terrain Adaptability: Comfortable navigating various outdoor terrains and uneven surfaces to reach and inspect remote job sites.Operational Support: Ability to occasionally assist field teams with project tasks, including the safe operation of power tools or oversight of heavy equipment.Manual Dexterity & Strength: Capability to reach with hands and arms and occasionally lift or move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.Versatile Work Environment: Ability to perform effectively in diverse settings, ranging from professional office atmospheres to demanding outdoor field conditions.Position TypeThis is a full-time position.Expected Hours of WorkCommon schedule is Monday thru Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with overtime requirementsProject schedules from time to time could require modified workdays and shift timesTravelMust be willing to travel up to 60% of the
