Located on Philadelphia's historic Independence Mall-steps from where the Constitution was drafted and signed-it serves as America's leading platform for constitutional education and debate, fulfilling its congressional charter to increase awareness and understanding of the Constitution among the American people.America's 250th AnniversaryThe year 2026 marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence-a historic milestone for the nation. As the national headquarters for constitutional education, the Center will host major programs, events, and commemorations during this once-in-a-generation celebration. The Manager of Events will play a central role in executing high-impact engagements that welcome national audiences, civic leaders, and partner institutions.Position SummaryThe Manager of Events serves as the event lead for assigned programs and rental events, ensuring seamless planning and execution from initial coordination through post-event follow-up. This on-site role partners with the Sales team to position the National Constitution Center as a premier special events venue while ensuring operational excellence across all aspects of event delivery.Why Work With UsPlay a pivotal role in America's 250th anniversary events, contributing to historic national celebrations.Help position one of the nation's most significant civic institutions as a premier venue for high-profile events.Collaborate with passionate teams across education, operations, visitor experience, sales, and leadership.Work in a dynamic event environment where no two days are the same.Contribute directly to the Center's mission to illuminate constitutional ideals and inspire active citizenship.Grow professionally in a fast-paced, mission-driven cultural institution.Responsibilities and DutiesLead planning and logistics for assigned events from coordination through post-event follow-up.Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders.Oversee on-site execution and coordinate cross-departmental teams, including operations, audiovisual, catering, and visitor experience.Exercise independent judgment to proactively resolve logistical challenges.Support external sales by stewarding assigned accounts and encouraging repeat bookings.Prepare detailed work orders, event documentation, and coordinate with Finance on contracts and invoicing.Maintain event data and documentation within Salesforce and departmental systems.Lead weekly Event Operations meetings as assigned.Manage internal space requests and ensure timely communication of needs.Perform additional administrative or logistical duties as needed.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in business, hospitality, or related field.3-5 years of experience in event planning or the catering field.3-5 years of experience overseeing catering and/or special event staff.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Salesforce preferred.Availability to work frequent weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.Physical DemandsProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer.Standing and walking on a frequent basis.Occasional light lifting (20 pounds or less).Salary Range $60,000 to $65,000 annually Health and Wellness BenefitsMedical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Account (HSA), Health Reimbursement Account (HRA), Flexible Spending Accounts, and Commuter Benefits.Income Protection & Life Insurance: Employer-Paid Life and AD&D Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, and Voluntary Life Insurance.Wellness & Support Programs: Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Mental Health Coaching & Virtual Therapy, Nutrition Counseling, Fitness & Lifestyle Reimbursements, and College Tuition Benefit.Retirement Savings Plan: Includes Safe Harbor Employer Matching Contribution for eligible participants.Paid Time Off (PTO): Employees receive a competitive PTO package that includes Vacation Days, Sick Leave, Personal Days, and Paid Holidays.
