Electrical Technician

Title: Electrical Technician Location: Onsite in Northridge, CA Duration: 12-month contract (multi-year extensions, conversion to FTE possible)  Compensation: $50/hr - $55/hr Work Requirements: US Citizen   SUMMARY We are seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to support the assembly, testing, and integration of ruggedized electronic systems for aerospace, space, and terrestrial applications. This hands-on role operates in a high-mix, medium-volume manufacturing environment and requires strict adherence to quality, documentation, and traceability standards. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Assembly & Integration Perform electrical assembly operations, including wire harness fabrication, cable assembly, and component integration Execute PCB rework and repair in accordance with documented procedures Integrate electrical subsystems into ruggedized enclosures and chassis Apply conformal coating and perform potting operations as required Testing & Verification Conduct electrical testing, including continuity, insulation resistance, and functional verification Operate test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and signal generators Execute test procedures and document results with full traceability Perform in-circuit and functional testing of assembled electronics Quality & Documentation Maintain detailed assembly and test records in compliance with AS9100 requirements Follow IPC-A-610 Class 3 acceptance criteria for all assembly work Implement IPC-J-STD-001 Class 3 soldering standards Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities Ensure component and assembly traceability per aerospace standards Process Support Follow work instructions, manufacturing travelers, and engineering drawings Participate in continuous improvement initiatives Support MES (Manufacturing Execution System) data entry and process compliance Collaborate with engineering to provide design-for-manufacturability (DFM) feedback PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS  Certifications IPC-A-610 Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) or Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) IPC-J-STD-001 Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) IPC-7711/7721 Rework and Repair Certification Equipment Experience LPKF systems (PCB prototyping, circuit board plotters, or laser systems) — strong plus Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) systems X-ray inspection equipment Selective soldering or wave soldering systems Technical Knowledge Understanding of high-reliability electronics and space-grade component requirements Familiarity with conformal coating processes and materials Experience with Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) procedures Knowledge of signal integrity considerations for high-speed digital circuits   Our benefits package includes: Comprehensive medical benefits Competitive pay 401(k) retirement plan …and much more!
