Job Family FAC - Part-Time Faculty, Credit Classes Grade P1 Salary $54.37 - Base Rate Department School of Education Reports To Department Chairperson Closing Date Posted On An Ongoing Basis FLSA Status Exempt - Not Eligible for Overtime Compensation First Review Date July 29, 2025 Position Overview Adjunct Faculty members teach courses to students pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree - K-12 ESE. Courses may be taught in an array of teaching modalities: MDC In-Person, MDC Live (Learning Interactively in a Virtual Environment), MDC Online (online delivery) and Blended Classes. Classes may be at various campus locations. What you will be doing Teaches lecture and laboratory sections Evaluates and advises students Participates in departmental and College affairs Develops curricula Recruits students Serves on committees Performs other duties as assigned What you need to succeed Master' s Degree in Education with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Special Education/Exceptional Student Education; and State of Florida requirements for teacher preparation faculty must be met. All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution Possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Ability to use innovative teaching techniques Familiarity with distance learning and willingness to use technology tools in instruction Ability to use collaborative learning techniques and student centered methods of instruction Ability to work well with students and colleagues in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments Classes may be at various campus locations. Additional Requirements The final candidate is to successfully complete a background screening and reference check process.
