The Impact You Will Make Here * You will help enable sellers to be successful in our thriving collectible gaming marketplace and their own stores by providing them best-in-class tools to manage their inventory, listings, pricing, and more. * You will lead complex software feature testing through the Agile software development lifecycle by implementing tests, metrics, and quality gates to ensure the definition of done is met. * You will collaborate closely with engineers and participate in code reviews to constantly improve the quality of our microservices built in C# and .NET 8. * You will gather and analyze software requirements, shaping them into actionable items for testing and automation. * You will improve the stability of our platform and enhance our ability to safely and quickly introduce new features by shoring up our automated regression test suites. * You will document and communicate your progress effectively to your peers and manager. What You Bring to the Team * Relevant Bachelor's Degree and 7 years of relevant industry, or Relevant Master's Degree plus 4 years of relevant industry, or 11 years of practical experience. * Experience testing microservices deployed in Kubernetes and AWS * A desire to understand and take ownership of the full quality process, working with the team to ensure test plans are covered across the unit, integration, system, contract, etc.. tests * Hands-on development experience in one or more back-end object-oriented programming languages (preferably C# and TypeScript) * Experience automating testing of REST API and Kafka contracts * Experience with testing frameworks like Playwright * Experience with Contract Testing (using Pact) * Experience with event processing mechanisms such as Kafka * Experience with automating tests (load, API, integration, functional) within CI/CD pipelines * Experience with load testing, preferably with JMeter (and BlazeMeter) * Will this candidate interface with IT and business teams? If so, which internal/external groups? Backend engineering team 4 Sr engineer Q1- taking care of backend services- inventory, price points, Standard SCRUM, backlog grooming, sprint sessions weekly Initial ramp up period will be getting familiar with the domain and asset the existing test coverage and will not be starting from zero- some work has been done in this area and have been maintained Helping to be the owner of the quality of the services of the full processes and that the tests are good and are covering all of the critical workflows and can spot areas that may be behind. Automated test coverages- CICD pipelines so a person doesn't need to be manually testing and want to get leveled up with the automated testing - RestAPI, Kafka and event based Setting up load testing- future scaling needs, Cyber weekend 80% Automated 20% Manual- and figure out how we can adjust those manual duties and transition them into automated How does this project impact the line of business or eBay as a whole? CSharp- microservices - Open to Java but team uses CSharp 2 . CICD tooling - Jenkins or similar tooling 3 . Contract testing: Pact- Pactflow specifically 3 . Experience setting up the gates - add better gates between the environments 4 . Comfortable in those program languages - Kafka is important 4 . Load testing experience 5 . 5 .
