We are committed to providing and obtaining the highest standard of education in a culturally relevant setting.The Teacher Specialist serves as a curriculum and instructional leader, supporting teachers in implementing high-quality, TEKS-aligned instruction. This role focuses on improving student achievement through coaching, modeling, data analysis, and professional development, in alignment with TEA standards and RYSS's mission to empower underserved communities through education.Key Responsibilities:Instructional LeadershipSupport teachers in planning and delivering rigorous, TEKS-aligned instruction.Model effective instructional strategies and co-teach as needed.Facilitate professional learning communities (PLCs) and data-driven instruction cycles.Curriculum and AssessmentAssist in the development and alignment of curriculum maps, unit plans, and assessments.Ensure instructional materials meet TEA standards and support diverse learners, including ELs and SPED students.Coaching and Professional DevelopmentProvide job-embedded coaching and feedback to teachers.Design and deliver professional development aligned with campus and district goals.Support implementation of MTSS, RTI, and other intervention frameworks.Data Analysis and School ImprovementAnalyze student performance data (STAAR, TELPAS, benchmarks) to inform instruction.Collaborate with leadership to develop and monitor campus improvement plans.Support state accountability and compliance with TEA mandates.Qualifications:Education:Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (required)Master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, or related field (preferred)Certification:Valid Texas teaching certificate (required)Instructional Leadership or Principal certification (preferred)Experience:Minimum 3 years of successful classroom teaching experienceDemonstrated success in improving student outcomesExperience in coaching or mentoring teachersKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Deep understanding of TEKS, STAAR, and Texas accountability systemsKnowledge of effective instructional practices and adult learning theoryStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to analyze data and use it to drive instructional decisionsCommitment to equity, culturally responsive teaching, and continuous improvementMental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental FactorsTools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripheralsPosture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twistingMotion: Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reachingLifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours;Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stressThis Job Description describes the general purpose and responsibilities assigned to this job and is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and duties that may be assigned or skills that may be required.Reviewed by Date Received by Date
