Position SummarySt. Johns River State College is accepting applications for an Adjunct Computer Instructor to teach foundational through upper-level computer science and information technology courses. Teaching assignments vary by semester and may include in-person classes at any SJR State campus and/or online instruction. Adjunct faculty are expected to deliver high-quality instruction, support student learning, and maintain academic and professional standards.About the College -SJR State is a public college located in northeast Florida along the St. Johns River. With three campuses serving Clay, Putnam, and St. Johns counties, the College enrolls nearly 10,000 students each year in one of the fastest-growing regions of the state. The service district includes Palatka, St. Augustine, and Orange Park-communities known for their history, natural beauty, and quality of life. Duties and Responsibilities INSTRUCTION & CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT• Teach assigned foundational and advanced computer courses as scheduled.• Prepare and deliver instruction using appropriate teaching methods and learning technologies.• Assess student learning through assignments, quizzes, projects, and exams.• Maintain accurate attendance and grade records.• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.• Maintain a professional, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.COURSE & PROGRAM SUPPORT• Follow approved course outcomes, academic guidelines, and departmental expectations.• Use the Learning Management System for course materials, communication, and grading.• Submit syllabi, attendance verification, and final grades by established deadlines.• Participate in departmental communication and required meetings or trainings as needed. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:• Master's degree in Computer Science or a closely related fieldOR• Master's degree with18 graduate semester hours in a computer-related discipline; relevant industry certifications may also be considered.• Teaching experience preferred.• Ability to teach in-person at one or more SJR State campuses and/or online.• Applicant must pass verification of employment/reference screening and a background check.Application Requirements:For best consideration, applicants should upload:• CV or résumé• Transcripts (unofficial acceptable for application; official required upon hire)• List of availability for teaching online and/or at each SJR State campusPart-Time
