JOB SUMMARY:The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the Planning, Set up, Launch of new Manufacturing Processes. The Manufacturing Engineer will also be responsibile to Continusouly Improve Prototype and Existing Processes. This includes technical support to the Operaitons and Engineering Teams. ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:New Processes;Develop cost estimates for facilities, equipment, and manpowerPerform Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (PFMEA)Create Scope of Work, solicit potential suppliers, hold bid meetings, make purchasing recommendations to management, and arrange for purchase of equipmentAnalyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.Lead the manufacturing sign off activity on equipment through all build phasesPerform / Support Work Instruction CreationPrototype Processes;Support prototype activities for test and build purposesExisting Processes;Develop, evaluate, and improve existing manufacturing methodsDesign tools, jigs, fixtures, and assembly aids that are capable for the purpose intendedEstablish process/product flow & control plans for components and systemsInitiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to the manufacturing processConfers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processesConduct time study and line balancing activitiesSupport Work Instruction MaintenanceCost Savings;Develop cost saving proposalsChange Management;Evaluate the impact of design changes on manufacturing processes, tools, equipment, quality and performanceModify and/or enhance manufacturing processes, tools, and equipment to obtain specified functional and operational performanceInitiate, recommend and/or provide solutions through designated channelsVerify the implementation of solutionsSupport change control meetingsREQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.Experience with electrical componets and systems.Battery or Power Pack Unit Assembly strongly preferred Understanding of Just-in-Time delivery and lean applications.5+ years working experience in a manufacturing plant as a Manufacturing Engineer or equivilent. Ability to work in a cross functional environmnet with Operaitons, Engineering, and Quality.Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite Applications - Especially within Excel.
